Monocle Scent One Hinoki Eau de Toilette - 50ml

my signature scent for the last 5 years. this 5h1t is the bomb. Not at all like pine-sol, more like a hinoki soaking tub in japan. fades precipitously but the final notes linger for 24hrs and are subtle and sophisticated unless you have overpowering BO, luckily I have a subtle neutral man smell so it complements my overall stink. More men have complemented me on it than females, but probably because females usually put so much stink on themselves (and don't even get me started on the ones that smoke cigarettes!).

This is far from a typical cologne, perfume, etc. You are likely to either love it or hate it..no in between.Hinoki definitely has a strong pine smell but with hints of moss, cedar, and thyme. Some have compared it to pine air freshener but I don't agree. It has multiple layers and depth.No, I can't imagine wearing it in summer but Hinoki is an ideal fall and winter choice. Too heavy for sunny days, sunshine, and light breezes - but perfect for crisp days or nights reading near a cozy fire.Scents can react differently on various individuals. I've tried popular fragrances that just don't work for me but are wonderful on other people. When I use Hinoki, it garners plenty of positive comments from others - as well as questions about where I obtained it.Having noted that, this has a very strong aroma. Hinoki is best used sparingly (a good thing considering the price). If you don't like pine, balsam or similar smells this is definitely not for you. But in the winter, Hinoki lifts my spirits. It is definitely a unisex scent. My spouse uses it as well. It suits us both.Again, this fragrance is unique and you certainly won't blend in when using it. It is reminiscent of pine candles but with a touch of the exotic as well.

Hard to describe but if I have too it would be woodsey. A little goes a long way and last for the better part of a day. A little over powering at first but calms down after about an hour. The most comments I have had regarding a cologne in a decade. Best since Yohji in the late 90's. One or two pumps last hours but I am still ordering more so I don't have to scour the earth for it in a year.

Bought this awhile back and would love to order it again. Will you be restocking? Would love to buy 2 bottles next purchase.

This scent is amazing - so reminiscent of Japanese Onsen, I love wearing it every day to remind me of the peace and soplitude of a good soak!

While I enjoyed the scent very much, with strong cedar, fir, and pine notes (wonderful for autumn and winter, I get a good number of compliments), I limit the score to 4 stars due to the somewhat weak sillage. Still a good and reasonably complex scent, without being overbearing.

Very unique scent, May not be for everyone. try a sample before committing. Personally it's one of my all time faves. Good reviews on basenotes.net
