If looking for a high quality paring knife, you’re there.
Ordered this knife to replace the Shun Classic paring knife. I did not like now the Classic felt, and the cutting blade was awkward for a paring knife. This one feels completely organic in the hand, the shape and size are perfect, and has the typical high Shun quality. Best feel for close up and detailed work. Definitely one of my top three knives, and will end up surviving the knife purge for sure. Attached pictures of both for comparison.

Japanese made and razor sharp
This is a fantastic paring knife. The size, weight and handle are exactly to my liking. Advisory - the handle is what feels like rough cut hard wood. It is not uncomfortable, but not the most ergonomic either. (I love the look) This is hand made in Japan with Japanese steel (see picture.) The laser etched writing is very clear and proof of where it is made. Out of the box, this knife shaved my arm. Honestly, it’s scary sharp. Measurements are true to description. After months of using this I can confirm this is a fantastic paring knife. It’s sharpens easy on a kitchen steel and the tip has proved very durable. We use it for everything from fruit to meat.

Okay knife, somewhat disappointing.
I bought this paring knife because I own many Shun’s. I wasn’t impressed with this. It doesn’t seem to hold an edge well and isn’t as balanced in the hand that I would like.

Very inexpensive Shun knife, but it stays sharp and cuts very well
Very inexpensive Shun knife! It is not finished nicely, like most Shuns... if that is important to you. The handle is actually kind off ugly, and the blade is not polished. But it stays razor sharp, is easy to hone / sharpen, and is the shape of paring knife I prefer. Does what I need it to do... and can't beat the price.

First one i got had a really nice handle like in the picture, this one does too
First one i got had a really nice handle like in the picture. This one how ever looks really messed up. The grain on one of the sides looks like wet card board and it is ugly. Kife some how fell out of the crappy shun housing and bounced around on the trip here. Had to re sharpen. Blade seems normal handle is way ugly. Will not be buying again.

Kanso is a cheap knife that will rust instantly
I purchased the Shun Premier knife and this Shun Kanso knife at the same time. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PIECE OF JUNK. It rusts and looks terrible. The description says "corrosion resistant" but IT IS NOT! This is a cheap knife with a Shun name. The Shun Premier is great. If you want Shun, pick the Premier line.

Very sharp wife and I love it
For the price I was shocked by the quality and brutal sharpness of this knife.

Good knife but when compared to other shun...
Decent knife but I like my other shun pairing knife better. The blade seems to be sharper at new and when re-sharpened on the other black handled shun. Also the way it is balanced sometimes makes me pick it up with the blade facing up. If not paying close attention this could be potentially dangerous depending on how you hold the knife. That said, I still think its a great knife of mid/high quality but If picking between this and the black handled shun I’d opt to spend the extra $10 on the black.
