I don't think plastic could be strong enough to take say a large celeraic?

It is not that it is plastic, maybe a large celery root won't fit in this size, but a smaller one it is ok to cut celery papardelle for example.i have cut potatoes, celery root, beetroot

would it be easier to put the twist long bit that holds the fruit or veg if I core the apple, courgettes & cucumbers first? please help

If you core it first and hen you’ll having nothing for the machine to hold on to and grip it in place to aid in the action of cutting it
