It is very important to me that my shoes are good, to keep me in a happy mood and ...
I have trouble finding shoes that fit, I usually get blisters on the tops of my hammer toes and on my pinky toe from wide feet. I am 6'3" 240 pounds, have hammer toes, high arches, wide feet (so I ordered size 12EEE). I just started a new job as a Waiter/Server at a new restaurant and Manager, so I put a lot of miles on my shoes, on wet greasy floors, and if my feet hurt, I get grumpy, which means I lose tips or don't want to work as much or as hard. It is very important to me that my shoes are good, to keep me in a happy mood and make me want to work more hours. And I have owned some very expensive shoes from handmade Danner boots, Cole Haan, Rockport, Salomon and Dansko to name a few, so I have no problem buying very expensive shoes. These Skechers Cottonwood Elks are very comfortable right out of the box! They are very roomy all over and have a large toe-box for my hammer toes. I got no blisters even on day one. (I did try a trick I learned from hiking: I wore thin nylon socks against my skin,or women's' nylons can work, and a thick sock outside.....this prevent blisters even in new shoes or long hikes). I like how stable these shoes are and how well they grip! They are very comfortable but also give me confidence with the large sole and good slip-resistant tread. I was extremely impressed with these shoes on day one. I also bought some Dansko Walkers which cost $140, and there is no doubt the Dansko are a more quality shoe and worth the money (more stable, form-fitted, less squishy and appear they will last much longer), these Skecher Cottonwood Elks are an extremely good shoe and I would highly recommend them!!!

Nice and comfy, works great as business casual shoes
After the "breaking in" period, the shoes works as expected. These were probably overkill for me in that I have a desk job in a professional environment. Still, I needed shoes that weren't too fancy but was budget friendly and would look good in an office setting, yet also be practical. The practical part, the slip-resistant design, works wonderfully as the lobby of my building, as well as the area I work on has tile floors that can get quite slippery when wet, particularly when people are trotting in from the rain. I haven't had any issue with skidding or sliding with these shoes at my office building compared to other shoes I've worn. Also, as pointed out, you may want to consider getting a half-size or one size up from what you normally wear. The shoes do have that extra tightness of boots and dress shoes. I did that; I usually wear size 10.5, but went for a 11, and it turned out great. Nice and snug, not too tight or loose.

Decent, basic work shoe, for women too
I am a woman buyer and these shoes seem like they will be a good work shoe for me. I work on my feet all day on concrete floors in a retail backroom. They are comfortable when I first put them on but as the day goes on and my feet start to swell, I can feel the hardness of the shoe. It's not a cushy insole, and of course there's no padding anywhere else. I think I'll need to add additional insoles to make them comfortable for 8 hours of pounding my feet. EDIT: Four months later and I'm on my second pair. I did have to use additional insoles to make them bearable for all-day wear, and will add them to this new pair. The inside lining on the back of the heels wore through, which wore through my socks as well. The top of the shoes creased, but the soles and seams are still solid, so they protected my feet from outer hazards pretty well. This is with 40+ hours a week of heavy duty use. If you'll use them for heavy use like I do, if you can swing the cost, I would recommend buying two pairs and alternating them from day to day.

Super value for the comfort and appearance.
Comfortable work shoe. Great for this transit operator and nice looking leather uppers. I added sole cushions to make them extra comfy and they wear quite well. Though oil resistant soles tend to wear quickly due to their soft nature I've milked a couple of years out of mine. The soles are thinning, but with an occasional polishing they look sharp and professional, and repel water still.

Decent Garage Oxford
Been looking for work shoes that are made from real leather, that have good insides and souls, that will stand up to me standing up and walking my average 5 to 7 miles a day, all on concrete. Tried all the sneaker types, supposedly leather shoes and have had them all fail due to very thin leather if it was leather, and disbond at the souls or insides tear up at the heal. So far, these are holding up well, with no signs of problems with the leather or insides. The upper seems to be thick enough leather to not split, but also is flexing well with my stride. They seem to be well put together so far. The padded foot bed is comfortable so far. The slip resistant souls are good, but do collect small rocks. Comfort is good, with little break in time, about a day, and my feet were used to them. I can't speak to longevity yet as I've only worn them a few weeks, but so far so good. I'll update if these fail, or are lasting and wearing well. I have been going through shoes about a pair every 8 months to a year, with my last three sneaker types not lasting that long, so I really hope these last better.

Durable and good slip resistance. Comfort however...
I'm a server at a country club, where I'm constantly moving around and moving furniture. These shoes are really good, the slip resistance is actually decent. I've worn many "slip resistant" shoes that feel like that they aren't really, but these are. However the reason I'm giving it three stars is comfort. The insoles are plain and simple garbage. Memory foam insoles sound nice but in reality do nothing for you if you're on your feet for hours. When I first got these shoes my feet would just start hurting after being on my feet for an hour or two. Considering I spend at least 5 hours on my feet that doesn't fly with me. I just put some Dr Scholes work gel insoles in mine and now they're great, but it would've been nice to buy some work shoes where I didn't have to buy insoles. Hence why next time I need to buy work shoes, I'll probably buy the Dr Scholls Harrington Work Shoes, I've used those before and they feel so much more comfortable.

Fits just a touch under true size but still comfy
I bought these for work where I stand and walk almost 80 percent of the time. They do fit very close to true size, so I did not have to go half a size up. Compared to my other Skechers, it is just a bit tighter but I did not lose any comfort. I don't see an issue if I were to size up a bit, but definitely don't go lower than your true shoe size. Materials are great as usual from Skechers, but this leather does appear to be the type that will have more visible creases over time. Overall, an excellent shoe and value at the price I bought them for here.

Great
if you're looking for something comfortable and easy to wear. It’s incredibly lightweight and feels great on your feet, thanks to the thick, cushioned sole. The slip-on design makes them super convenient for just grabbing and going, and they’re perfect for walking around all day without your feet getting tired. They're a really good, practical shoe for everyday use.
