It Really Is One Of The Best Fluxes For PCB Soldering
The CHIP QUIK NC191 Smooth Flow Tack Flux is a high-performance no-clean flux designed for precision soldering, rework, and repair applications. Packaged in a 30 cc syringe with a fine applicator tip, this flux provides excellent control and reliable results for both hobbyists and professional technicians alike. ๐งช Flux Performance & Chemistry No-Clean Formula: Designed to leave minimal residue after soldering, eliminating the need for post-soldering cleaning in most applications. Smooth Flow: The consistency is optimized to flow evenly with solder joints, helping improve wetting and adhesion without blistering or spattering. Tack Flux Behavior: As a tack flux, it holds components in place before solder flow, making component alignment and repositioning much easier. ๐ Verdict: Excellent fluidity and tack characteristics create dependable performance during both fine rework and general soldering tasks. ๐ง Application & Ease of Use Syringe Delivery: The 30 cc syringe with a precision applicator allows for controlled placement โ ideal for PCB component leads, through-hole work, and surface-mount parts. Consistent Dispensing: The smooth, non-gummy texture dispenses cleanly without clogging or stringing, even when applied in small amounts. Temperature Stability: Performs reliably across common soldering temperatures (lead and lead-free processes), without hardening or charring prematurely. ๐ Verdict: Easy to use and control โ ideal for hobbyists and professionals who need precise flux placement. โ๏ธ Soldering Performance Improved Wetting: Promotes excellent wetting action, helping solder flow smoothly into joints and reducing cold solder risks. Reduced Defects: The consistent activity level minimizes issues like bridging, voids, and insufficient solder flow when used properly. Compatibility: Works well with a wide range of solder alloys used in electronics repair and assembly. ๐ Verdict: Delivers strong improvement in solder performance and joint quality compared to generic fluxes. ๐ฆ Packaging & Value 30 cc Capacity: Larger volume provides excellent value for frequent users and technicians who work on multiple boards. Syringe Convenience: Refillable and long-lasting with proper storage โ ideal for bench workflows. ๐ Verdict: Good balance of quantity, ease of use, and price โ especially for hobbyists and repair professionals. ๐ Pros True no-clean formulation โ minimal residue Excellent tack and flow characteristics Precision dispensing with syringe and narrow tip Works with both leaded and lead-free solder Great value quantity for frequent use โ ๏ธ Cons Not always suitable for extremely fine pitch or ultra-micro work without careful application No-clean residue can build up over very heavy use (normal for this category) โญ Final Verdict The CHIP QUIK NC191 Smooth Flow Tack Flux No-Clean (30 cc Syringe) is a reliable, high-quality flux that lives up to the needs of both hobbyists and professionals. Its smooth flow, excellent wetting performance, and no-clean characteristics make soldering easier and more consistent across a variety of components and board types. The precision syringe delivery and generous volume offer strong value, particularly for users who do frequent soldering, rework, or repair. If youโre looking for a versatile and dependable flux that improves solder flow and reduces cleanup time, the NC191 is an excellent choice.

Perfect flux at an amazing price
Works great for everything, even bga soldering. It doesn't get too smokey, doesn't smell horrendous, and doesn't become super hard and sticky when burned/heated. It has a nice viscosity, it isn't runny, nor is it too sticky. Cleaning it up is also super easy with isopropyl alcohol. For a flux this quality and this price, you can't go wrong. Great value. It also comes with two tips, one being thinner to apply a more controlled amount.

RECCOMENDED BY pro repair shop
Man, I love this stuff! I recently used the Chip Quik Flux to repair a circuit board, and it worked flawlessly. The application is super easy, thanks to the included needle tips, which allow for precise placement without any mess. If youโve ever struggled with applying flux cleanly, this setup makes a huge difference. It flows well, spreads evenly, and makes soldering a breeze. Seriously u gotta try it! What really sold me on this product was the recommendation from a professional repair shop northbridgfxโand now I see why. The flux activates quickly, helping the solder bond smoothly while preventing oxidation. Whether youโre working on tiny SMD components or larger joints, this stuff just gets the job done. It also cleans up easily with isopropyl alcohol, leaving no sticky residue behind. If youโre into electronics repair, this is a must-have in your toolkit. Just be sure to store it properly to prevent it from drying out, and youโre good to go

Good solder no clean flux...
This solder flux works well and easy to apply... Only negative is it smokes a little too much for me, thank God for smoke adsorbers...

The flux is very good, but the siringe il mechanically poor.
I noticed that some of the flux comes out from the top of the piston and cannot be used anymore with the siringe. The flux is good, works perfectly, but I hate that some of it is wasted, fortunately just a little bit.

Good amount and upped my soldering skills 100%
If you think your bad at soldering this is why. You were not using good flux. This stuff made me have bad soldering joints, not fully sucking up solder with solder sucker. Solder wick not working. It fixed all of those issues. Also solder stays liquid for a second longer than not using the solder. This is great when cleaning but holding an say SMD ceramic capacitor to a board you have to wait around 2-3 seconds before it hardens. So if you bump what you are doing it will slide even if your iron is not touching. I used wick and cleaned pads to be bare copper, when before I could not do this or lifted a pad because heating it too long. YOU HAVE TO HAVE THIS STUFF ITS LIFE CHANGING! Also buy one of those silicon tip solder suckers, AMAZING.

Iโm always looking to buy Amtech, but can never find any in Canada. And itโs available in the US but Iโm not willing to spend $50 with shipping on a little tube so this is apparently the next best thing and I found this by mistake too I started micros soldering with this, just because it was available and I have tried other brands in between, and I always end up with this one on my desk. It works for reballing the middle board and bga chips. With quick 861dw and hakko fm203. Just make sure to get a good smoke extractor.

Used this flux for some simple repairs to a PCB with good results but I was lazy and didn't setup my extractor. It was only a small bench job and I;ve used rosin flux in a similar situation without ill effects. However the fumes from this stuff really got to me and was shocked at how toxic they are, leaving me with a sore throat and burning eyes. Don't cut corners with this stuff, use an extractor every time!
