Cliente (Client) (A French Gigolo) (DVD) (2007) (French Import)

I feel I can only give Client four stars which, given the talent involved in this film, both in front of and behind the cameras is a surprise for me. Maybe I had prejudiced my viewing, maybe building it up to be something better beforehand.That there is great talent involved in this film is surely the case (Josiane Balasko, Natalie Baye, Isabelle Carré and Éric Caravaca amongst others) and there are some great scenes especially I thought some of the domestic scenes of the main male character of Marco with his extended family and friends. Perhaps on subsequent viewing I will find it to be a great five star rather than a good four star film, but after watching it last night for the first time I think four stars, about right.Client is a good story that is well acted with great performances put in by the whole cast, it is also well directed and photographed, the cinematography of the end scenes being particularly stunning.The music has an important role in Cliente especially the French Rap music (there is only a small amount of this typed of music if you’re not a fan of Rap) as the lyrics are relevant to the film.My review is for a French import DVD of the film. There is plenty to watch on the DVD. Including the extra features there is nearly three and a half hours of film plus extras to watch.
