good
It honestly was a good book and it shared the perspective of an Egyptian, but the plot it self needed some work it was hard to understand but other than that it’s a good book.

An absorbing, wonderful book
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. There is never a dull moment as we follow the rise and fall of Tahaka. I particularly love the historical details that serve as the foundation of the story. It is an easy, clean read as well as a fascinating one. I would recommend it for young people and adults alike. It is one of my favourites now and I’m off to add it to my teenage sons ereaders.

Well written history
This book is very engaging. My 8, 11, and 14 year old children were glued to the story; sad at the end of every chapter that I set the book down. A great way to learn the history and interactions of Egypt, Israel, and Assyria.

Intrigue and Justice
God King is a book based on historical evidence of the interplay of three kingdoms during the reign of Sennacherib and the Assyrians. As the characters interact, one is drawn into the mystery and questions of justice among them so that reading the next chapter is compelling. However, a subtitle if the book says A Story of Hezekiah. Although the plot comes to the climax in Jerusalem and its surroundings, Hezekiah is a small player. That was a misleading title, thus losing one star of the rating. Nevertheless, the story is well-researched and fun to read for children between ages of nine and twelve.

Very enjoyable
An interesting story about one of the Kushite pharoahs of Egypt that is mentioned very briefly in the Bible. Intrigue, adventure, danger, and love all make up this tale for young adults.

If you like ancient history, you will enjoy this easy read.
This was a reading assignments for our home school Co-op. My 11 yr old son enjoyed it. Some of the wording is harder but that didn't stop him reading the whole book in 2 weeks. I like that because we purchased it on the Kindle, when he had to look up a meaning of the word, he just clicked on it. (He already looks up words for other subjects in a book dictionary and not having to stop reading to look up a word is a great benefit to a struggling reader)

Good book
My little reader enjoyed this book. I thought it may be a bit too intense for him (he's an early reader, so I have to be careful with content), but he enjoyed it. Nice to back up bible history with some fiction to give them a sense of the time period.
