Coincidentally, I found this Julie Mahler book, ‘Fennec Fox as a Pet: The Complete Owner’s Guide’ just after I finished watching a Nat Geo Wild show about the Fennec Fox and wondering if these cute animals could be kept as pets.For starters, the book slays the myths concerning fennec foxes—everything from training and health information to behaviour and personality. What’s more, the book even provides extra help as it lists sites and online forums where you can find more information, especially regarding the personal experiences of other fennec fox pet owners. And when it says it’s a “complete owner’s guide”, it’s not kidding—this book is totally comprehensive.And most importantly, this book allows you to make an informed decision before you go out and get a fennec fox: the book helps you weigh your options, your home situation, the available time and money that you have to see if your current daily schedule gives you enough space to love and care for a fennec fox.Overall, those who have been considering getting a fennec fox, buy this book first. The fennec is a great pet—but only if you have the patience and capacity to love and take care of it properly. This book will help you make the decision. An essential part of research if you are looking into or really wanting a fennec fox. It's a wealth of information from it's life in the wild, to diet and cate in captivity. It gives you a great sense of the true financial obligations and what you need to provide as a responsible owner to have a happy and healthy fox.Julie writes with love and passion for the species, but at the same time doesn't sugar coat the reality of it. The truth is foxes are a huge responsibility and a lot of work - it's not a commitment you undertake lightly. They are very rewarding and completely worth it. Do lots of research and buy this book! Mine's full of notes! :)

This was informative, but very badly put together in terms of formatting. Certain items are placed in very strange areas and it looks like no editor was given the final copy, as it is rough and rife with mistakes, mainly grammatical.That being said, if you can get over that, the information inside is a good amount for an exotic animal. I would’ve preferred much more, but I recognize there simply isn’t enough research to fill a book right now.Still, if you’re wondering if a fennec will be able to fit into your lifestyle (and vice versa), this book will help you to decide that, including budgeting for uniquely fennec-y (haha finicky) issues.

We are getting a fennec Fox as a pet soon. It gave me more information than I thought it would. It even gives you websites to go to for veterinary care, etc. Great book.

As an animal lover I have long been interested in having a non-traditional pet in my home. My concern is that I would want to ensue I have all of the education and training needed to best support the needs of a non or semi domesticated animal. What I really appreciated about this book is that it gives you everything—in depth knowledge about fennec foxes, and the pros and cons. Owning any pet requires a commitment of time and resources, but owning a non-traditional pet requires much more than most pet owners are looking to take on. A must for anyone considering adding a fennec fox to the family!

A comprehensive buying guide for pet fennecs are hard to come by and more so with rearing one--but, this e-book definitely covers everything I need from A-Z on fennecs. The most special part I love about it is the very detailed tips, process and information on caring for my pet fennec and another chapter on their behavior--this has definitely gained me several valuable insights about my pet. If you are a fennec owner like me, I highly recommend that you buy this book too--it is unbeliavably very helpful!
