What diameter are these?

Diameter is 2 1/4” - wish I would have found these 40 years ago - rice, stews, creamy soups will no longer spill over. Amazing product. 1 is not always enuf- depending in what kinda cook U are- remove with spoon before serving creation. I do not think they are nuke safe- as made from porcelain- toss in dishwasher. Also easy to store on it’s side ( have mine lodged in front on silverware drawer. 🍀

When I purchase this 3-pack, are the pot minders individually wrapped? I'd like to use them as gifts.

They are individually wrapped. I gave some away too. Works very well too.

I have never used these... what is the audible noise they are supposed to make?

It’s a ceramic disc about 1/4 of an inch thick! It works best in water. When your water is about 210 degrees steam formed underneath the disk. The disc will start rattling and making noise. As long as the disc is rattling the pot will never boil over.
