What does the red light on the charging wire mean. It seems to come on and then turns off like it's lost connection.

Light goes of when batteries are charged, read the instructions supplied.

Does anybody knows the transmission range of this drone?

The range should be around 30m or so but it should be borne in mind how small the drone is. If its flown too far away you won't be able to tell which way it is facing and so it could easily fly out of range and thus out of control, so keep it within clear sight!!

I’m a little confused ,, the controller is same as in pictures but different from the instruction book ,, it doesn’t open to allow a smartphone !

Ok download the app to your phone the controler doesnt hold the phone if you want to fly the v8 using your fone then open the app holding the fone in your hands there isnt a camera on the v8 so you can fly it by just using the controler thats your best option i cant see a app for the phone in my manuel id just fly it with the controler its fun indoors once you set the trims up dont fly it in the wind
