Review: Florida palmetto bugs beware! - Trust me, these WORK. We live in an older ground floor unit in Florida. When we first moved in, we were seeing 1-2 GIANT palmetto bugs/cockroaches a day. Sometimes dead but mostly alive. And they fly 😭 We put all 8 baits under the oven, dishwasher, behind shelves, etc and within a week, we hadn’t had a single sighting! They’re cheap and effective. Whenever we start seeing the bugs again (usually 2-3 months), I reorder and re-place. If you’re in a battle with roaches, this is your first stop! Reminder that seems obvious but isn’t: do not place them alongside glue traps OR right after pest control treatment. The goal is to lure the bugs in so they can take the poison back to their nests. If they die before they take the bait back, the product will not work.
Review: Magical miracle in 2 weeks - I never write reviews, but this product really deserves one. When we moved into this apartment, I noticed some small roaches around, so I tried Maxforce gel, which had worked for me in the past. However, this time the insects were really stubborn and were everywhere in the apartment. I battled them for over a year, and my husband didn’t help much — he would leave food on the floor and on the countertop, and wouldn’t wash the dishes. I was so stressed that I once found an empty egg case in the dishwasher (which my husband never used), and I got really mad at him. Since I travel a lot on weekends, I barely had a chance to keep up with the cleaning, so the roaches were basically having a big party here. I was very concerned about my baby, so I used to take him with me when traveling. By June, I was so fed up that after being away for two weeks, I came back to a situation that was barely tolerable. The roaches were everywhere — not just at night, but during the day too! I used a Raid fogger and searched for different ways to fight the infestation. Honestly, I had read so many good reviews about this product that I figured I had nothing to lose. The price is incredibly cheap compared to professional pest control (which I don’t trust at all — especially after living with an aunt who had rats. I ended up taking control myself because their solutions were useless). Anyway, I left again and came back with the baby. After the third day, I started to worry because I found roaches in places they normally don’t show up. I was concerned that this product wasn’t working, but there was a noticeable difference — the roaches were slower than usual. Then I traveled again, and when I returned after two weeks, I saw that the mature roaches were gone, except for a few little ones that I assume had just hatched (and I expect them to be gone soon!) It’s been a month now, and I’d say that in the past week I’ve only seen two small ones — and nothing else. (Before, I used to see them constantly during the day.) I’d say this is a great solution. No need to smear paste on the walls or in the corners (which looks anything but discreet). I finally have peace of mind and can bring my baby home without feeling overwhelmed about hygiene.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does anyone know if it can be used pet-safe? (I have a quite food-driven cat.)**
A: The first question is whether your cat can ingest the "poison". The bait stations are little plastic containers. They have small openings that the roaches go through to get to the bait. I doubt a cat could get its tongue through such a small opening. But they could possibly chew through the plastic container. The second question is if the car did eat the bait, would it harm them? The active ingredient is Fipronil. This is The primary ingredient in many flea treatment products for pets. So dogs and cats apparently tolerate Fipronil well. Fipronil is the active ingredient of this product and is only 1/200 of the bait so the amount contained is very small.given that it is difficult to get at, the amount is very small and Fipronil is already used on cats. .. this world seem to be pet safe. But ultimately you need to make that decision. I would ask your vet about whether your cat could be harmed if they ingested Fipronil from a roach bait trap.i hope this info is helpful. I used peteducation.com and parasitepedia.net as resources - good luck!

**Q: What do we mean by "small" roaches? As is 1 in, 1/2 in or even smaller than that? The few I am seeing are no more than 1 inch in length. Will it work?**
A: Of course haven't u seen some nice size ones crawl into the smallest crack to avoid u?they will will fit their butts into those small bait holes. Now if u mean the big watrrbug sized ones that look big from across a lg.room,u may need the larger ones.but I never had an infestation of roaches that size.research leads me to believe the real big ones wants to be outside.good luck.worked for me

**Q: If I have a 3 bedroom/2 bathroom kind of large home... will this be enough? or should I buy 2 packs?**
A: I also live in a 3 bedroom 2 bath apartment and I've been using the single pack of 16 pieces for the past several years with success.I strategically place the units on all walls that are adjacent to other units.

**Q: If I have an unused, unopened box for a year, would it still be effective?**
A: Combat Max 12 Month Roach Killing Bait, Small Roach Bait Station has an unopened shelf life of 3 years. Opened bait stations should be replaced every 3 months.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works Great for Me (2 Years Of Use)
*by M***R on May 18, 2026*

I started using these because I had a serious infestation caused when i allowed someone to stay here, and unknowingly brought them from their previous living space. Many pest control companies now only offer temporary solutions for the German Cockroach in a separate and very expensive plan. I have had pest control for years and had no deterance or control effect on German Cockroaches, Spiders and certain types of Beetle species. I have been using this for approximately 2 years, and other than finding the occasional dead carcass of the larger American Cockroach, I have not experienced any infestations. No matter what you use, no matter how clean you are, once you have an infestation of the German Cockroach, you will have to take continual control measures for the life of the infested structure. These have been very effective, there is no mess, and when placed right, the only ones who know there are there are the pests and you. So, they don't take away from the ascetics and appearance of your home, IMHO. I highly recommend these over the many other chemical measures. I would also suggest using with home remedies, until you can transition to only using the environmentally safe home remedies.
