Review: Great little helper for my always crazy hungry kitten! - I love it! And so does my kitten! She always eats really fast so I had to find ways to slow her down without getting her annoyed or irritated because I physically stop her. I was sceptical at first but it turns out these licky matts are really a pretty decent product! It is softer than another one we have, which is for dry and wet food together. At first I thought this mat will be only suitable for wet food, but I found it good also for her dry kibbles as they are very small size. It is made of silicone or soft rubber (I am not sure, but it is very soft) so it is comforting for the cat to chew or lick it when trying to get the food in her mouth. It is very, very easy to clean even with only water! The most important thing is that it really slows down my cat's feeding so it does really has the desired effect. I love this product and can definitely recommend it!

**Q: The lick mat is sticky to the touch and washing it doesn't seem to get rid of the stickiness. Is this normal?**
A: Yes! I came here to figure out what that is. It leaves a waxy-sticky film on my fingers that doesn't come off of the mat even with several good soak/scrubs. I have a hard time believing that would be good for my cat's sandpaper tongue to go over and then ingest.

**Q: Is there a better way to clean it? I use a kitchen sponge, but can't get the corners of the scales so there's a yellow residue left after drying**
A: I put them on my middle rack in the dishwasher. I've had them for several months now and clean them in the dishwasher daily, they haven't broken so far. They always get 100% clean after that.

**Q: Wouldn't there be a lot of waste of food that the cat's tongue can't get to, so they walk away and you have to toss the rest?**
A: My cats or dog wasn't overly interested in this. And you don't put a lot of food down at first. No matter what, you are going to have to wash it; but yes; if your animal isn't interested in it, there will be food left over.

**Q: Is this a 2-pack?**
A: It can be!  You have the option of selecting one for around $9, or two, for around $16.   Similar mats are sold as 2-packs, but they aren’t of as good quality.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Cat loves it but hard to clean

Got it in purple, looks super cute. Cat loves it, i put his new Feliway happy snack yoghurt on it at bedtime so that + licking makes cats calmer (we have behavioural spray issues!). Anyway day 3 and no spraying… yay! Knocked a star off as it’s quite annoying to clean, water sprays everywhere so you have to kind of bend it in the nooks and crannies. Best way is to submerge it in sink and then run hot tap over the bits.
