## Overview

The MusicNomad Precision Truss Rod Neck Relief Gauge (MN600) is a compact, stainless steel tool designed for quick, accurate measurement of guitar neck relief. Featuring the three most common measurements, laser-etched markings, and an innovative pick capo, it simplifies setup for electric, acoustic, classical, and bass guitars without the mess of traditional feeler gauges.

## Description

Being able to measure your neck relief is a critical step in the setup process. MusicNomad's precision Truss Rod Gauge will help you do it quickly & accurately. The gauge comes equipped with the 3 most common relief measurements (.006”, .008”, .010”). Instructions printed right on the handle makes it extremely easy to dial in your neck relief. It’s perfect for electric, acoustic, classical & bass guitars & features laser etched markings that take the guesswork out of which gauge to use for each instrument. It’s made of premium stainless steel construction without the annoying, messy oil found on traditional feeler gauge sets. We even included an innovative pick capo to assist in the process. That's MusicNomad quality – raising the bar in equipment care.

Review: Clean, accurate truss rod gauge with a simple and effective setup system - This is a really well-thought-out truss rod relief gauge, and it ended up being a bigger upgrade than I expected. I was initially reluctant because I already owned a traditional feeler gauge, but what sold me on this one was the fact that it comes clean and grease-free, with only the sizes you actually need for guitar setups. The simplified size selection makes setup faster and less annoying, especially compared to traditional gauges that include way too many unused measurements. The markings are clear, easy to read, and the included reference system is genuinely helpful when you’re dialing things in. I was also pleasantly surprised that the pick capo isn’t a gimmick. It works very well for holding down the first fret and feels more consistent than some traditional capos, which can add unnecessary tension. Being able to make adjustments with it in place is a nice bonus rather than a requirement. The gauge itself is compact, solidly made, and fits perfectly into a small tool case. Overall, it’s a clean, simple, and very effective tool that reflects MusicNomad’s “keep it simple” approach. If you do regular setups, this is an excellent upgrade over a standard feeler gauge.
Review: Easy enough to use - Great tool and easy enough directions on how to use to make sure the neck relief on your guitar(s) is set properly. Wish I would have bought it sooner.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What is the thickness of the pick capo used on the 1st fret?**
A: Doesn't specify the thickness of the Pick (Capo) on the Pick or on the packaging but is @ 1.00mm thick (you cannot bend it) so in my honest opinion it does the job.

**Q: For bass, some well-known techs in youtube use .015, but nomad's only comes with .006, .008 (for bass?) and .010. why this difference? who's right?**
A: This kit you capo the 1st fret and hold down the 12th and slide the feeler at the 6th. Most YouTube capo the 1st then hold the string at whatever fret is closest to the body then slide the feeler in between usually the 8th. So the tolerance is different. So technically they're both right. Depends on how you do it.

**Q: How to use use this gauge on Taylor Baby, which is a short neck. Same way at 6th fret?**
A: It should work on the 6th fret. You should be able to find some info on there website.

**Q: Does this work on electric Bass**
A: Yes, it will work on a bass guitar.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ MusicNomad Precision Truss Rod Neck Relief Gauge Tool (MN600)
*by S***. on June 6, 2025*

I was surprised at how small it was. HOWEVER, it works very well as it purports and the size is convenient for carrying in your case or gig bag. The Music Nomad video about how oily other gauges from tool sellers is not an exaggeration. This does the job, the white on black is very easy on the eyes, it's not oily, and IMO it's great for checking neck relief and making adjustments as needed. It looks to be durable and I'm am more than pleased with it, its use, and the measurement accuracy. Simple to use. They even give you a "pick capo" which is really just a pick that works well to hold down the strings at the first fret to free your hand to hold, touch at other (e.g. 6th or 12th fret) and make adjustments as needed while holding the guitar in playing position which is the proper way to check.
