I am giving these five stars even though they didn’t quite work for me. I think these would be perfect for dog food versus cat food. They are definitely airtight and will keep your pet’s food very fresh! There is a screw on cap and also a cup/scoop over the twist on cap. That’s a little cumbersome when feeding cats and they circling you ready to pounce when they are hungry! Plus, the cup is way too big for scooping cat food. Now, with all of that said, they are of a very nice quality and I highly recommend for dogs or larger pets.

Great product small sizee but holds alot

I have had great experience in the past with the larger sizes when I used them to store dog food. They keep food fresh, they're durable enough to last the entire life of your pet, and they'll keep just about anything out that isn't a very determined racoon. But a five pound capacity was more than I wanted to store food for my tiny bird that eats a tablespoon a day. I was glad to discover this smaller design available, and have used it to create and store a custom food mix for my bird, without having to worry about it going stale or drawing pests. If an even smaller unit becomes available, I'll snap that up too!

I have been having issues with keeping my cats food separated but also fresh. I had many different containers but once the food goes stale my babies wont eat the food. This is easy to use, it was cheap for me at least, due to the upright design it is easy to store. It is airtight otherwise I would know due to the animals not wanting to eat, keeps the food smelling fresh, and its small and functional.

I used these years ago for my dog’s kibble and wanted to buy them now for my new puppy. I prefer these to the large bins. They fit easily in my kitchen and are easy to handle. I was so relieved they were still available. I removed one star because they have the most obnoxiously sticky label I have ever encountered. Two full sides of this thing covered in stickiness. I used multiple removal methods with a scraper (heat, vinegar, rubbing alcohol), plus the dishwasher, but the sticky residue remained. Ultimately, after my initial efforts, it took 2 rounds of generous dousing in Goo Gone and careful scraping, both times followed by the dishwasher. Finally I can use these canisters. I hope they never stop making this canister. And I hope they never put that sticky label on anything ever again.

This is a high quality, portable generous capacity bird food container, just the right size to fill the feeders outdoors - the snap-on measuring cup lid fits snugly, as does the screw-on top. Molded side grips of the container make 1-hand carrying comfortable. Gamma has larger sizes of similar containers.

Yes, this is a great, sturdy product. I don’t know about you, but I’d rather not have items around my house with giant product advertising and barcodes, however. Be prepared to also buy a bottle of Goo Gone, some rubber gloves, and some razor blades. I would pay an additional five dollars for a product with a label that comes off easily, and I would pay significantly more to not have to get stitches after handling a greasy razor blade for 45 minutes.

Great keeps the ants out

Perfect container to fill the pellets for my Japanese Koi fish. Nice handle grip with a feed cup...Love it !

Use this for trips with my dog usually 3-4 days worth of food depending on how often they eat.
