When I was 11 or 12 and wanted to wear just a little bit of lipstick - I’m very fair and blonde- my Mom got me some Cover Girl lipstick and it was very natural-looking. No one realized I had lipstick on because all it did was give me a slight bit of color. My lips have very little pigment. That was 1971.
