Where these excel, is that they represent good value for money. In terms of over all quality, they are crudely manufactured with rough edges on the plastic, and with a protruding cap at one end. Not a big deal, but if you work out in your living room and try to prop these up on their end, the cap can make them topple. By contrast, the hexagonal shape works well for various exercises and helps offer stability. They do feel a little large for the weight, but not a massive draw back. They are comfortable enough to hold, and easy to use - they just don't have the best appearance compared to some of the more expensive options (but you get what you pay for!).
