It is not a jack, there is no way to plug a 3.5mm cable into this PTT/Mic

You have to program it to do what you want it to do in the software. It's usually a panic button, but you can program it to do something else.

There is no 3.3mm jack on the handset.

is there a longer lead version of this mic? for the UV5R

I'm not really sure but you may have to look on Amazon to see if they make one
