Given the screen size on the series 7 is larger, how does this work? 44mm =/= 45mm, so this shouldn’t fit correctly.

This case fits the Apple Watch Series 7 45mm. The dimensions of the 45mm watch are the same as the previous Series' 44m, only the screen size has increased. The case does not obstruct the 45mm screen either. You can view a picture of it on my 45mm watch here: https://amzn.to/3mWwygf

Is it easy to put off? (Constantly)

it is easy to pull off. not sure what constantly means. it has a rubber seal on the plastic cover.

Can a protective screen fit on under the case?

I tried to use one but it kept coming off on the sides. The curvature of the watch face does not seem to be conducive to one. The case just does not help here either. But been using this case w/o one for almost a year and no issues. Just don’t swing your arm around like a maniac.
