The rod handled two wild (non-hatchery) lake-run Steelhead flawlessly. The rod looks good, handles fish well, and casts a mile. Paired the rod with a Pflueger President and Power Pro braid. #10 mono leader to #8 fluorocarbon with float and bead rigs. Garbage. On top of that 4 guides were all mangled and twisted. It was shipped in a 6’ box that was like 18”x18” and not a rod tube. With that being said the box was undamaged so it was 100% packed like that. I don’t believe it would have been tossed around hard enough to bend guides and crack the blank. Going on a steelhead trip at the end of the month and won’t be ordering another one.
