Quilling: Techniques and Inspiration (Search Press Classics)

Jane Jenkins has produced a very well organized and detailed book on quilling. She shares far more quilling possibilities than any other book I’ve bought. Many of the projects she presents are advanced but doable even for a beginner. A real keeper for any serious quilters.

Both inspirational for those with quilling experience and aspirational for those wanting to learn about the artform.This is an exquisite book depicting beautiful quilled flowers (along with other objects such as butterflies, cakes, etc.) with explicit, easy to follow instructions for the various quilling shapes. These quilling shapes are those used throughout the book. Looking at the author's finished projects, it is fairly simple to detetmine which shapes were used in each project. Those new to quilling be aware - this is in lieu of specific patterns for the projects.

I am a novice to quilling. I purchase this book to get ideas on papers and how to preserve your work. I think it is a good initiation into quilling- very inspiring too. The instructions are very clear and pictures illustrate step by step techniques. Jane Jenkins also offers advice on choice of papers for quilling projects and how to preserve your finished products for which I'm interested in. I am pleased with my purchase.

This book definitely illustrates quilling skills that will guide you beyond the basics. Photos in the book demonstrate various tools which could enable you to create more precise shapes. The projects in this book are broken down into each essential paper shape and element with numbered steps. Specific tips and techniques are provided for each of the basic shapes. Ultimately you are able to manipulate the paper with far greater control. Once assembled you will discover beautiful art pieces with a delicate filigree appearance. The projects in this book are more sophisticated and offer you designs that yield heirloom-quality results.

This was a great book with many quilling designs. It doesn't show step by step instructions for most of the designs, but it does show how to do all the quilling techniques that you need to know to make each design. Also, some of the designs have the print out pattern in the last few pages.

This book is just ok, not very good resource for those who are looking for patterns & designs. Many pages are useless & some technique seem not easy to follow because using fingers to roll the strips. After going through the book a few times i don't feel like to start any project in the book.

I love this quilling book. There is a full page of dozens of example of each technique. Like different ways to pinch or glue loose coils to get different effects. Even showing different lengths of paper to get different results.There is also a finished artwork example for each quilling method. So there will be ,say, a bouqet of tulips made completely of wheatears and there would also be an artwork or antique hatbox adorned with that same method.My favorite project is the black lace Victorian fan. What a great idea! I can't wait to make it!

I love this book. It has quilling patterns that are not in most of the beginner books I have, and it is great to learn to do slightly more detailed projects. The instructions are clear and easy to follow.

This book is full of inspiration, easy to understand and follow the instructions. Flowers look great when quilled, your friends and family will be impressed because even if your project doesn't match exactly no one will ever get the same present. Enjoy a new or established craft. My new go to for gifts.

exactly as ordered. Pictures are nice, directions clear. Have made a number of the items and they've turned out ncie. Enlarged some made some smaller all turned out.
