The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars is the fifth studio album by David Bowie, which is loosely based on a story of a fictional rock star named Ziggy Stardust.Rhino will be breaking out ‘breaking out’ this albums from the David Bowie ‘Five Years 1969 – 1973’ box as a standalone releases. Available on1LP 180g Audiophile vinyl Review: Perfect - Excellent vinyl. It has great sound and is a perfect album. Review: Ziggy Loud and Clear! (Review for 2016 180g Vinyl Release) - One of my favourite Bowie records, next to "Station To Station". Music speaks for itself, so this review concentrates on the 2016 180g vinyl release. I had actually not owned a copy of this album on vinyl, and had picked up the 2022 half-speed mastered edition at a local record shop. Went to play it and while sound OK, it sounded muddy, in some cases distorted and in short...just did not sound right. "Suffragette City" in particular did not sound like it should. Comparing to that track on my old 1976 pressing of Changesonebowie...that sounded MUCH better despite the clicks and pops. Who knows why...could be that the album was mastered from a digital copy of the original master tape, could have been defective, maybe did not like my turntable setup (although it sounded similar on 2 other tables, 2 different cartridges that I have)...not sure. Given my positive experience with the 2016 180g remaster of "Station To Station", I decided to try this edition, purchased from desertcart. NIGHT AND DAY DIFFERENCE! Zero surface noise, no clicks, no pops, no skips (while some folks here received defective records or perhaps had to tweak their turntable setups, mine required none at all...I'm running a Shure M44E with a Jico SAS N55E stylus on a Sansui 1050E turntable for reference). Simply put, it sounded RIGHT! Crystal clear instrumentation, Bowie's voice sounded as it should and excellent stereo separation. Audio review (equipment, albums, music in general) is super subjective, so I ask you to take my review with a giant grain of sand and a very generous pour Margarita :), but I can tell in the 30+ years of buying/playing/collecting vinyl, this is an outstanding vinyl pressing of this album. Enjoy!

This Would Be His Crowning Achievement!
By the time this highly publicized album first came out in 1972, David Bowie had become part of Glam-Rock, a subgenre that showcase flashy costumes and stylish improvisational rock which swayed with exhilarating hard-driving rock and roll. The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars caused quite a media stir when it electrified the music world and told the story about a liberating rock star from Outer Space who lands on Earth as the album became a extravagant success and a blockbuster hit. Beginning with the opening arrival Five Years, the track set blasts off and conclude with Soul Love, Moonage Daydream, the majestic Starman, Hang On To Yourself, Ziggy Stardust, the electrifying Suffocate City, and Rock And Roll Suicide, as it chronicles the androgynous alien rock star's rise to notoriety, just to later fall from grace. Plus, what you get on the expanded edition alternate takes on Moonage Daydream and Hang On To Yourself, extra tracks like the Top Ten hit John, I'm Only Dancing; Velvet Goldmine; Round And Round, and delightful demos of Lady Stardust (piano solo) and Ziggy Stardust (acoustic guitar). By successfully borrowing from Marc Bolan's glam-rock merit and the `future shock' of A Clockwork Orange (no violence allowed!), Bowie would reach back to the heavy rock heralded by an off-kilter metallic mix of fatter guitar solos, genuine pop music, string sections and cinematic-style flourishes. Officially described as the manifestation of an alien being attempting to bring a message of love and hope during it's five year stay, but to be accidentally destroyed by his consumptions and the fans he represented, this landmark masterwork is backed by Mark Ronson's solid guitar attacks and its boss saxophone section that helped make The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars is such a glitzy keyboard and guitar wielding spectacle that will always shine as bright as ever for the ages--and beyond.

The DEFINITIVE Ziggy Stardust (Blu Ray)
This is undoubtedly, the single best release since the Bowie team starting remastering and re-issuing his releases two decades ago. The stereo version on here is a sonic upgrade worthy of anyone's catalog. The album has never sounded so clear. The ATMOS mix is fantastic as well. The only word of warning is that in an effort to boost Bowie's vocals, Mick Ronson's guitar has be reduced a bit. As producer Ken Scott, himself, noted in reference to this change, if you boost something, you have to take away something else. Personally, I would have preferred Mick's guitar as maximum volume, but to each their own.

Very good product
I had always wanted this album and finally got around to buying it. This is one of the greatest rock albums of all time IMO!

No plastic CD case
The only fault that I find with the CD is that it is packaged in cardboard, not a plastic CD case. The other David Bowie CDs are packaged the same way making it very easy to get the disc out and causing scratching .

Llego muy bien, Amazon ha mejorado mucho los envíos de los discos pero solo compro los que son vendidos por Amazon México o Amazon Estados Unidos. Sobre el disco no hay mucho que decir, obra fundamental en todo amante d ela musica.

A classic album from a very exciting time in David Bowie's career, this one to complete my CD collection of 1970's Bowie to me the best era.
