The King Who Refused to Die: The Anunnaki and the Search for Immortality Review: Ancient ETs, history and deep spiritual lessons packaged in a delightful story. - For those of us who knew the sedate and serious scholar "Zak" Sitchin personally, this posthumous publication is delightfully shocking, and we can understand why he allowed its publication only after his passing. His only fiction, it is surprisingly racy, yet never crude or inappropriate. We were with Zak at Baalbek, (Lebanon) when he discovered what he felt certain was the legendary stone "gate" of Gilgamesh. This is Zak's fictionalized story of the fascinating historical Gilgamesh who doggedly sought the gift of immortality from the gods, claiming it was his birthright as part human and part extraterrestrial (Anunnaki). Put through humanly impossible challenges and tests, Gilgamesh's classic initiations parallel those tasks of Hercules. Through unexpected twists and turns, when all seems lost, he eventually triumphs, finally winning his crown and his lady. This is a great page turner, reminiscent of a Dan Brown style "page turner". Don't miss this fictionalized story of a legendary historical figure whose challenges have many significant messages for each of us in these times. NBS Review: Interesting - I have read a number of Sitchin books. The book is OK but not great as a work of fiction. There are a number of interesting names and facts you will recall in the book from Sitchin's other works.

Gilgamesh walks out of ancient Sumeria and into the present
Zecharia Sitchin understands how to make the ancient tale of Gilgamesh and his partner Enkidu come alive. The old version of the tale lacked the living personalities of the times. It sounded flat and lacked motivation and cultural understanding. Sitchen's version reads like a Tom Clancy thriller with palace intrigue, mortal threats of the gods, and personal ambition attached. His version is far more understandable and readable than the original. I imagine only someone who had re-imagined the culture of ancient Sumeria after researching it for thirty years could give it the personal touches needed to make this tale come fully alive. It may be only my personal viewpoint, but I think there is more of a technology story here. Enkidu is clearly an artificial creature that needs more character development and the aircraft and communications technology used to track the two main characters should have more development. For these reasons I removed one star.6 However, I think that Sitchen's story suffers less from this problem than the Illiad does from not expanding on the android servents of Haesphestos, the lame God of the Greeks. Nor is his technology that can portray moving pictures on Achillies shield given as much personal expansion as Sitchen gives the personal life philosophy and belief system of Enkidu. Sitchen opens up the question as to whether Enkidu had a soul. Buy it, it will open up your soul too.

Gilgamish, part devine
I have already sent this book to a dear friend in Ohio. I love Sitchen's books! I have all of them and find it fascinating reading. This book is a bit unusual,in the way he writes: All of his research and translations are precise and educational, however this has an added story of our character that makes him seem even more real. I would recommend this read to anyone interested in his work, and those eager to find our ancients' history.

We need to read Zacharia Sitchin's books if you are interested in the true creation a mankind and why we were created
Zecharia Sitchin is changing the world. The Bible tells you nothing about the creation of Mankind only what they could understand and what they what they want you to here and control mankind and keep the Holy Wars goings today. They have find Clay Tablets from the early ancient Sumarians that tell of a very different beginning somewhat close to the edited bible version. To much ancient technology like Pyramids and other buildings all over the world that can be rebuilt even today. He has around 12 books in 46 countries and mankind is starting to think and wonder how and why were are here on earth. Read all his books they will blow your mind. Information has been coming to us for 150 years now from uncovered libraries in the middle east. 20,000 clay tablets that will help future mankind the real story with proof. The Old Testament was revised into the King James Version and many books were taken out of the Old Testament for not understanding original writing or a need for power and control. It is all so sad.

A Novel to read
This is a Novel and one needs to read -The King Who Refused to Die- Just as reading a tremendously -sit on the edge of your seat- Novel! I have read all of Zecharia Sitchin books, whereas have always been written in a research and findings documentation format. Zecharia Sitchin's works, such as the Earth Chronicles series entailing books I thru 7, are all documented and fact supported very substantially, making these books very valuable in one's learning base. The King Who Refused To Die novel is like a breath of fresh air in one's reading enjoyment. A novel, based upon all the substantiated discoveries and findings of Zecharia Sitchin's years of research. For anyone beginning their studies into the works of Zecharia Sitchin, I personally would recommend this novel for being their introduction, because of it's novel format.

Good book. Very interesting. Presentation is perfect as is always with Zecharia"s books. Character of Gilgamesh is depicted in a very strong manner.

Surpreendeu por ser uma obra póstuma e terminado por terceiros. Modo interessante de contar o épico de Gilgamesh, informando através de uma versão romanceada.

It's a shame that Schools do not use all the books by Zecharia Sitchin to teach how humans were genetically engineered to be slaves to the gods. Yes, I know it doesn't sound so glamourous as the garbage that taught in schools but it is the turth. This is just one of many books that will open your eyes and mind.
