Once you find the hack suggestions to pull the tub parts out it makes replacing the basket hub ring part a whole lot easier. Hint, find yourself a thin nylon rope to help push down around and pull up and lift out the washer basket to expose the old part. This part is a bear to pry out at first because of all the crud left behind from years of laundry.
