Great needles, even for my Singer 306W.
The 306W is my favorite machine for heavy work (I have 10 machines). You can't get the original 206x13 needles for this machine anymore. These are smaller diameter, 1 mm longer, and have no flat, so you have to put the slot to the front, but the machine absolutely doesn't care. It works just as well, even on heavy work, as the the original 206x13s. These needles are fantastic. I have included a photo of a test run. Size 16 needles with v69 sail thread and 2 to 10 layers of 6.4 oz sail material (probably the hardest material to sew). I tried an inexpensive Singer (2732, ~ $100 at WalMart), a Pfaff 1222E (they go for $850 refurbished on Ebay), and a Singer 306W, my favorite machine, (free, somebody threw it away). The only legitimate complaint about the 306 is that they don't make needles for it anymore (I bought probably the last Schmetz size 16 206x13 needles ever, from Australia, a year ago). Further research turned up several blogs (in Australia) where several people said the DBx1 needles worked in the 306W. YES THEY DO. EXCELLENT.

Good sturdy industrial sewing machine needles that don't shatter easily.
I bought these after the needle that came with my new to me sewing machine simply shattered one day, mid-project. I don't know if I was simply using the wrong size needle for my project or if something else was wrong, but in any event, I wasn't about to use any more of the needles that came with the machine. I ordered these size 16 needles in the hope that sizing up and switching needle brands would solve the problem. I love these industrial sewing machine needles so far; they work great on my sewing machine and allow me to use sturdier threads in my projects. And no more needle shattering problem! I am pleased by this. Shipping was fast, which was appreciated as well.

Doesn't work with Brother Sewing Machies
These needles don't work with any of my Brother sewing machines. The shaft is cylinder shape where my sewing machine requires a flat side. I just recently found my machine constantly breaking thread, very loose tension stitch, thread gathering, after checking everything else, I decided to check the needle I just put in and it looked different so I found one of my original needles and my machine worked as expected. I should have checked them when I got them, now I can't return them, I wasted money and will thow these away.
