Purchased this shovel to feplace the heavy folding metal surplus entrenchment shovel attached to my emergency deployment bag.It's compact enough to attach yo a load ouy, better ergonomics than the military one.Much lighter.Wish it had a cover, included.Will probably use the one from my discarded folding shovelSturdy.

perfect size for my offset smoker
I got this specifically to manage the firebox on my backyard smoker, it is the perfect size to shovel ash and move coals around. I specifically wanted a wood handle, and for $20 with a coupon, you can't beat the value!

Multi purpose tool
I use this short shovel to move around hot charcoal on my 22" Weber charcoal grill. Given its light weight I can use just one hand and the handle is just long enough that my hand stays out of the range of the hot coals.
