It is recommended with these toys that you boil the water first and then let it cool before you place it in the toy. I did this and filled the toys without any problems. The water was crystal clear without any sediment or film occurring. I was pleasantly surprised at how well this product was made. It is an exceptional quality toy. I saw many other ones on desertcart that were made so cheaply from thin plastic. That is not how these are made. They actually are just like the ones we had when we were kids and made out of thick heavy duty plastic that is resistant to breaking if dropped. I doubt that it even would leak it is made so well. Is this really a dolphin, or is it actually a Narwhal? Take my money.** A: LOL You're right. My kids call it Unicorn Dolphin. I'm going with SWORDFISH as the scale & body type, color etc more closely corresponds with that rather than narwhal. **Q: Do the plugs on top fit on the old original toys?** A: I don't know.
