Feels great
Feels great on my skin. Not sticky. Leaves no residue. Did a patch test before using and no allergic reaction. Time will tell if this product works.

so far it's ok
I do love the VU skin brand, and have had the pleasure of trying several of their products, and so I am always eager to try another. I use it on my face, as is recommended of course, and was hoping to have had a bit better progress if I'm honest with the reduction of fine lines, as well as some dark spots that have developed for me over the past few years. I think that because I have had such wonderful experience with this brand in the past, I carried to much expectation into this trial, so perhaps I am partly to blame, but I will say that I was hoping that with the use over several weeks of this that I would have seen better reduction with the dark spots and lines. I do see some progress, so I do not want to falsely say that I have had no results. My dark spots have lessoned some, but I will continue to try it until I run out, and perhaps that by the time the bottle is empty I can say better things about it. I hope so, and then I can update the results. It does saturate well though, and isn't greasy, so i do like that.

Smells Like Nail Polish Remover; Where Is The Ferulic Acid?
Smells Like Nail Polish Remover; Where Is The Ferulic Acid? The Vu Skin C & E Serum with Ferulic Acid comes in a standard 1oz white glass dropper bottle. It arrived with a plastic-wrapped safety seal on the collar; no box.The serum can be used day or night, after cleansing, according to the instructions. When dispensing, it has a medium amber color and an oil-like consistency. You only need a few drops, and it absorbs into the skin quickly without leaving an unpleasant sticky or slick residue.Ingredient-wise, it has a concise list. 11 chemicals. And I say chemicals because everything (natural or otherwise) is a chemical, even water.WaterEthoxydiglycol (antibacterial and solvent added to skincare)L-Ascorbic Acid (vitamin C)Glycerin (humectant)Butylene Glycol (organic alcohol derived from petroleum and is water-soluble; instead of using the controversial propylene glycone)Polysorbate 20 (nonionic surfactant, treated with 20 parts of ethylene oxide. The result is an ingredient used as an emulsifier in cosmetics)Sodium Hyaluronate (sodium salt of hyaluronic acid)Panthenol (a byproduct of pantothenic acid; vitamin B-5)Tocopherol (vitamin E)Phenoxyethanol (widely used synthetic preservative)Ethylhexylglycerin (or an octoxyglycerin is a glyceryl ether that is used as part of a preservative system in cosmetic preparations)L-Ascorbic acid—also known as ascorbic acid—has the most research of any form of vitamin C regarding skin benefits. It is a potent antioxidant and skin-soothing agent that can improve the appearance of signs of aging. A particularly vulnerable antioxidant when exposed to UV light and air, ascorbic acid must be packaged to protect it from these elements during routine use, or its effectiveness will gradually become diminished/oxidize.Ascorbic acid is a powerhouse when mixed with other antioxidants or used alone in higher concentrations, such as 15% or 20% or greater, amounts that can be great for evening out skin tone. In this formula, we are not given a percentage of concentration for any of the ingredients.Vitamin E (Tocopherol) is a well-established skincare ingredient known to reduce UV damage and nourish the skin effectively. When paired with vitamin C, the combination is more effective in preventing photodamage than either vitamin alone.Ferulic acid, hydroxycinnamic acid, is a powerful antioxidant that works to boost other antioxidants' effects too. When used in skincare products, it helps to protect overall skin integrity by reducing the development of fine lines, spots, and wrinkles.Unless I'm misreading something in the ingredients, though, I do not see any specific mention of ferulic acid in this product beyond the bottle's face. I have to assume it has been incorporated into one of the other compounds, or VU Skin is misleading users to think they are getting a ferulic acid booster in their serum. I'm not too fond of vague or assumptions when it comes to my skincare. I want to know, for sure, where and in what concentrations we are getting our antioxidants (not just the FA, but C and E).While there is no added fragrance, this product does have a scent. When you first open the bottle, there is a mild hint of nail polish remover to it. That is what it smells like to me. Now, it does not last or linger after application. Not sure why others would say this has no scent. Unless mine was already rancid (spoiled) prior to opening.I like this serum, especially the texture and absorption, but I am giving it a neutral 3 out of 5 rating due to: the weird acetone-like smell, the lack of concentration or percentage information on the C, E, and FA (assuming there is FA), and the fact they don't clearly state the source of the ferulic acid in the ingredient list (too vague). Price-point-wise, I've used better quality vitamin C serums that were more transparent about their product formulations. I wouldn't repurchase this one.

When you open up this serum
You smell a chemical smell that then turns into an ascorbic acid smell. Nonetheless, I put this on my face as directed and them followed up with a moisturizing serum.

Just average for me, not brightening effects sad to say
I found this to be an average serum to be honest, a little bit of a letdown since I did have higher hopes. It comes in a glass bottle that is white to protect the serum that is inside. The dropper makes it easy to apply the yellow-orange colored serum that is a bit on the thinner side. The serum itself has a fragrance that I am personally not a huge fan of but it fades quickly which is nice. This serum absorbs quickly and does not leave any kind of residue on the skin. I found it is mild on the skin and had no issues after I applied it either. My skin sadly didn’t really feel softer or smoother when I used this. After repeat use I did not see a brightening effect either so it did not follow through on that promise either. To me this was, as I said a letdown, since I neither get an instant effect like softer skin, nor long-term effect that was promised, the brightening. That is why I am rating this as just average since you are still providing your face with something good with the vitamins.
