Great performance for cheap cost
Great headset, have been using for almost 2 years now (I think the longest a headset has survived in my home). Gives great audio for gaming and is super comfortable to wear even for long periods of time.

Cost-effective, Durable, Quality
I have the Lava version of these headphones and have been using them for almost two years. I have not ran into any problems with them. They have lasted through many times of rage from video games lol. They are very sturdy and the worst that happens to them is the cups pop out of the frame and you just pop them back in. The adapter is great to plug into the headphone and/or microphone jacks on your computer. I liked them so much I bought a pair for my brother.

Headset Is Used
The price is a lot lower then its original price and even though it comes used it worked brand new.

Great gaming headset, fantastic quality inside and out.
Several months ago I was sent a set of Rig500 HD headphones for review. These headphones retail for about $70 USD, and for the price, I believe they are a great value. These headphones have what I would consider a flat, but ‘stylized’ frequency response curve, sounding great for listening and being entirely sufficient for basic audio mastering, but for someone who wants to do serious audio work where a perfect soundstage is key, these are not for you. This set of headphones sounds great in games, with full bass and a very crisp sound stage, not sounding tinny or distorted. For music these headphones provide you everything you would want for a solid listening experience. The bass certainly isn’t mind blowing, but it is clean, crisp and loud. Vocals come through without sounding muddy even with a lot of other sounds happening at once. The construction of these headphones I thought was awesome, the two closed back earcups being completely detachable from the flexible head strap. Each ear cup has three mounting points that allow for fitment adjustability, and this is further aided by the elastic suspension style strap that sits on your head. This strap is comfortable and keeps the headphones stable on your head, even with moderate movement. The cushion on the earcups is soft and comfortable, wrapped in a comfortable, breathable mesh fabric, wrapping completely around your ears and even sitting fairly comfortably with thick temple tipped glasses over extended gaming sessions. Compared to the original plantronic rigs, I’d say these have made several significant improvements. There are fewer moving parts to break, they are more comfortable over long sessions, breathe better, and even sound better. Combined with the usb sound hub that came with the original rig, the rig 500 headphones sound even better. The microphone is on a pivoting boom, is detachable, and connects with a 3.5mm mini jack. Sound quality of the microphone has been stellar, sounding fine for use in game without picking up too much background noise or sounding abrasive to those listening. Overall I would certainly recommend these headphones to anyone who wants an extremely solid gaming headset with microphone. The only things I can find to complain about is that the right angle connector doesn’t plug in to my lifeproof case nicely, (although that’s more my own fault and expected with these cases) and that due to the design, these headphones aren’t the most portable, and don’t swivel to sit comfortably on your neck. As I stated before, this is great in that you don’t need to worry about it breaking, but equally so are only really portable if you disassemble them. I think this isn’t a big deal, but you might.

Great value, great quality, however the cord could be better, and the earcups leak lots of sound.
I acquired this headset recently, and I've been using it for a few days. I read some reviews that complained about the audio quality, and the microphone lacking sensitivity. I didn't find either of these complaints to be true.It has really good audio quality for its price, and the microphone is far above average for its price. I am thoroughly impressed with the microphone. The headset has earcups that are made of a soft plush material, which unfortunately leaks out ALOT of sound. I had a friend assist me with gauging the sound leak, and it seems that it leaks just as much sound as it emits without even having them on my head. The sound leak is enough that I would not want to listen to music on them if I was sitting nearby other people. Plantronics sells "closed" earcups that seem to be made of faux-leather, and supposedly leak less audio. I would have preferred if Plantronics included the "closed" cups, or maybe both. Or it would have been nice to make the soft ones less leaky? The headset has a single 3.5mm TRRS connector (this is the newer type of 3.5mm headphone connector that has an extra ring for microphone), but it also comes with a 3.5mm to dual-3.5mm adapter (a Y-cable that splits the audio and microphone connectors for use on a PC). So this headset works on Xbox One, PS4, Smartphones, and Tablets using it's native single-3.5mm connector. And it also works on PCs using the included Y-cable adapter. It is packaged disassembled, which confused me because the fully assembled headset can fit very comfortably inside the box it came in. I didn't appreciate the way it was packaged either. The cord was very tightly wound up, which has given it a permanent twist (the two cords that go to each earpiece are twisted up just below my chin. If you untwist them, they just spring back into a twist again). It would have been much nicer if the cord was package in a larger diameter spool. The cord itself is a soft matte rubber cable. It does not seem especially durable, and this concerns me. I would have paid $5-10 more if it had a braided cable, that would have resolved the tangling/twisting issue. I also wish the cord was longer. My PC tower sits on the floor next to my feet, and the cord barely reaches far enough.Pros:- Great sound quality for its price- Very comfortable. I don't think I've ever owned headphones/headsets that were this comfortable.- Microphone is above average for this price. Really good quality.- Earcups are removable for cleaning- Accessories are availableCons:- Cord is too short- Cord is prone to twisting up, and tangling- Cord is not braided- Headphones emit quite alot of sound leak. Which may be due to the soft plush earcups, or the construction of the earpieces. I'm not certain. In summary, the headphones are worth their price. In this price range, you won't find many headsets that are this comfortable or with as good sound quality as these. I've been through several headsets in the last few years, . This one seems about on-par for quality (not better or worse than typical), but the comfort and sound quality are above-par. Compared to my other experiences in this price range, I am more satisfied with these than any other headsets I've bought. If Plantronics wanted to improve these, they could simply give it a longer cable, and make it braided. Also they could make the earcups more sound-proof. I'm certain that both of those issues could be resolved without adding more than 50 cents to their costs.
