Although there was only a small amount of litter, it worked perfectly! My cat used it right away and I was able to get a good sample.

I was stressed out about how I would get a sample from my cat. This product made it easy!! Almost immediately after putting the sand in his litter box, he climbed in and the urine pooled on top exactly as advertised. I collected it with the provided dropper and my stress was gone.

Worked exactly as advertised. My cat got right in it and did his business. I had to use 2 packs to cover the bottom of a small, clean litter box. Was able to easily collect the urine sample with the kit provided. Now, I’m taking it to the vet for testing. Very happy because my cat is a beast at the vet and previously they had to sedate him to get a urine sample!

The only real issue we had is that there's not much litter in each bag. Our kitty is a "digger" who likes to throw litter around. She has 2 large litter boxes (one on each story) to try to minimize the mess on the floor. We got smaller boxes to use for getting her sample. She didn't seem to mind the Kit4Cat litter, but she didn't appear to be happy with the amount of litter in the smaller boxes. We ended up putting a full bag plus half of another bag in each box. She was OK with that, and did provide us with a good sample.We've had other kitties that had issues that required us to get urine samples, and it was never easy. This litter would have been great when we had those kitties. This was much easier than trying to use plastic bags, and much less expensive, and better for the kitty, than needing the vet to "extract" it.This seems to be a good product, and we will buy it again when the need arises. It would have been easier if the litter came in one pound bags. It seems that most cats want a decent amount of litter in their box. Lord knows, a cat parent doesn't want to do anything that would make their baby think about going outside the litter box.

First, the product does work. At its very basic function of what you want it to do, it works. I was able to collect the urine on top. There is a very big but, though. If you are trying to collect a urine sample for the vet to test, and not just use test strips, the product can and probably will interfere with the results because there is a high likelihood of some sediment being collected with the urine. This poses a really big problem when cats are being tested for urinary infections, crystals, etc. My vet tested the sample and we pretty much can't trust the results because of the sediment. Now, we have to go back to using Nosorb and have his urine retested. It's not the product's fault, but it does not work for the testing we needed. In addition, there really isn't a lot for 3 pounds. I thought there would be more but I guess because it's so dense, there's not a lot of product to make up the 3 pounds. I, unfortunately, will not be purchasing this product again.

I hardly ever write reviews on products, but this one really saved me so I thought I would write about my experience for all the other cat people. My house reeked of cat pee since my girl had been randomly peeing in random places. I took her to the vet and they told me to buy some plastic litter and bring them a urine sample because it would be more expensive if they had to go in her bladder and extract it themselves, so I tried to get her to use the plastic litter I bought at the vet, she refused. Then she stopped peeing for awhile so I thought the problem had resolved itself. Nope, I woke up to my @%^&%# cat peeing on my head and neck! I was so pissed off and frustrated with her, I wanted to kill her!!! (I would never) I researched why my cat would being peeing everywhere, the website said that it could be stress, changes, dietary problems, or health issues (kidney and UTI). So I ended up looking up on Amazon for a product that would help me determine what the problem is without having to pay another $60 for a 15 minute visit. So I bought the kit and used it immediately the next morning, I put my cat in the bathroom (took out all the rugs of course) and left for work. I came home later that day and she used the bathroom on the hydrophobic sand. Great! I got the test strip and dipped it in her urine and low and behold, she had increased protein, her pH levels were off the chart. So I looked it up and turns our she had a UTI. At the same time I purchased this kit, I suspected it was a UTI so I purchased BestLife4Pets Cat UTI Urinary Tract Infection Treatment; All Natural Homeopathic. I gave her 3 pills a day which dissolved easily but still had to hold her down while she cried. But it was easy peesy and ever since I started giving her those pills, she stopped peeing everywhere. I am so thankful for this kit! The amount of sand you get is not a whole lot, so I think the kit could be a little cheaper but overall, it worked like a charm!

Worked. You need to use a separate box, as small as the cat will fit in. You need to keep an eye on the cat and siphon the urine off right away with the included pipette. But it's better than having the vet catheterize the cat, and far cheaper.
