For years I have refused to buy "fake" candles but this year I caved in as I wanted something cheerful without the fumes. I wasn't impressed when I first turned them on and inspected them but then I placed them on top of a low bookcase next to a couple of plants - and I must admit they are growing on me - fast!Of course they don't look like real candles up close, that shouldn't be expected because they aren't real candles. But when placed in a good spot, with a bit of care, out of direct light, and at a little distance (I'm only talking a few feet of distance), they are actually quite lifelike and I'd dare say a really good substitute for real candles.After testing them in different spots, I'm convinced that they are exactly what I was looking for as I can't be around fumes from real candles - and also I don't want the fire hazard of real candles. These are good, really good, and I am looking forward to using them for the Christmas decorations this year. I'm already pondering whether I should buy more... it would be really nice with (safe) candles in all the windows this time a year to bring some cheer to the dark season.If like me you have hesitated and not wanted "fake" candles, I suggest you try these ones. Put a bit of effort into arranging them, also arrange the surrounding light, because they actually look really, really good and are a great substitute for real candles if you want to avoid fumes and fire hazard.

We love these! They are fantastic, everyone who saw them over Christmas thought they were real. I sit them in a copper jam pan in the fire place with holly etc around them. So joyful and easily switched off with the control.

I have many battery candles.These have instantly become my favourites because the “flames” are the most realistic I have seen.I leave them on all the time, so have not tried the remote, so I cannot comment on that aspect.I absolutely love, and highly recommend these lovely candles.

So real looking ! My neighbours popped in at Christmas and swore they were real. I love them so much I shall use them all year round. I absolutely do not like real candles but love the effect ~ so these are even better !Highly recommended !

Really fantastic, my family and guests were really impressed with the realism.l bought a real red scented pillar candle just for the scent and placed lt with the artificial arrangement but it looked exactly the same. The real one did not give off a scent though, need not have purchased it!
