I have an OXO press, but it wasn't self-cleaning and I had to get a skewer out to clean it. Since I use my garlic press 2-3 times a week I was really sick of doing this, and wanted a self-cleaning press. I read a *lot* of reviews of various presses and finally settled on this one. Used it over the weekend and was *very* impressed. First of all, you can stick 2 very large or 3 average size cloves in the hopper...it's quite large. Secondly, the handles were covered and didn't slip in your hands when you did the pressing. Clean-up? Took about 2 seconds, because the self-cleaning aspect worked wonderfully! Very shallow so it only holds one clove of garlic at a time. I use a lot of garlic so this is not a time saver for me. Also, the tines on the cleaner are too short so it does not push the garlic skin out of the holes meaning I still have to dig it out. Again, not a time saver.
