## Overview

The PoE Texas IEEE 802.3af 12V Splitter converts standard PoE (44-56V) into a stable 12V DC output delivering 12 watts of continuous power, while simultaneously providing gigabit Ethernet data. Designed for non-PoE devices like IP cameras, media players, and Arduino projects, it supports all major PoE switches and injectors, extending power and data up to 328 feet with active opto-isolated protection for device safety.

## Description

Product description This premium splitter features isolated DC power to protect your sensitive devices from electrical damage caused by shorts, surges, and accidental groundings - the difference between standard and professional-grade equipment. Power 12v Non-PoE Devices Compatible with 12 volt, 12 watt non-PoE devices: Arduino, Foscam, Wansview, Airsight, EasyN, Escam, Q-See, Apexis, and Wanscam. Compatible with any existing 802.3af PoE switch such as Cisco or Netgear with 10/100 or Gigabit speeds. PoE to 12V Conversion Made Simple The GAF-12v12w splitter works with 802.3af PoE to provide 12 watts of continuous 12 volt power. Use with your existing PoE Switch* or 48v PoE Injector to power 12 volt non-PoE devices such as Foscam 12 volt outdoor cameras or other devices, up to 328 feet from the source. This Mode A/B inline step down splitter converts 44-56 volts of PoE to 12 volts, 12 watts of power on the DC barrel plus separate 10/100/1000 Gigabit data on the RJ45 connector. Supports both Mode A (-1,2 +3,6) and Mode B (+4,5 -7,8) configurations with IEEE 802.3af standard. Review: WORK WITH FOSCAM - I am using this with foscam G4 camera. I recently added a POE switch to my network. I have 8 foscam cameras. This is a great adapter to no longer have to run a seperate power cord to the camera. Since this G4 older camera does not normally do POE this adapter allows you to run a POE line and with using the adapter you can bypass the power supply. Makes it easier to just run a single ethernet line.
Review: Works at 2.5Gbps - I used this with a Ubiquiti Unifi Dream Router 7 (UDR7) which as a single 15W PoE port. All the ports on the router are remappable, so I remapped it from a LAN to a WAN port, in order to power my fiber modem/ONT. My fiber modem is a DZS/Zhone 5302, which has a spec sheet of 16W Maximum, but the UDR7 says it is pulling 5W. With this adapter, the UDR7 is able to negotiate at 2.5Gbps, just as it was before using the adapter. I verified via a speedtest on the router that my download speeds are still >1Gbps (I have a 1000/1000 Fiber plan, but they over provision and I ususally get 1100/900 on router-based speed tests). I had tried a similar looking PoE splitter that is listed as 2.5Gbps capable, and 12V@2A, and I was unable to get the ONT to power up on the UDR7. The power light strobed very quickly and the ONT would not come online. That adapter did work to power the modem when connected to my 8 Port POE Flex 2.5GB Switch by Ubiquiti, but I would have then required a convoluted vlan routing setup for my WAN into the UDR7 (which would've been fine if Ubiquiti allowed VLAN as WAN, rather than having to break it out via ethernet first).

## Features

- A Gigabit, Mode A/B Inline PoE Splitter for 12 volt devices like IP Cameras, Media Players, and Speakers. Instantly convert IEEE 802.3af PoE to 12 volts for non-PoE devices. The 5.5mm x 2.1mm barrel fits most 12-volt devices.
- 12v splitter works with 802.3af PoE (Power over Ethernet) to provide 12 watts of continuous 12 volt power. Use with your existing PoE Switch or 48v PoE Injector to power 12 volt non-PoE devices such as outdoor cameras.
- Use with any 802.3af PoE switch like Cisco or Netgear with 10/100 or Gigabit speeds. Compatible with Arduino, Foscam, Wansview, Airsight, EasyN, Escam, Q-See, Apexis, Wanscam and other non-PoE devices. (For the Roku Ultra, see our GAT-12v25w splitter)
- A PoE power splitter that converts and 'splits' 44-56 volts of PoE into 12 volts of power on the DC barrel, along with divided 10/100/1000 Gigabit data on the RJ45 connector. Now you can safely extend DC power up to 328 feet away from a power source.
- All PoE Texas products are backed by a One Year replacement warranty and a 30 Day, no questions asked, return policy. Expert help is only a phone call away. Please call 512 479 0317 for assistance.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ground-isolated 802.3af Gigabit PoE Splitter with Type A Barrel Jack
*by C***T on February 27, 2023*

I wanted to use this PoE splitter to power my coax modem connected to my internet provider/ISP Spectrum. The Arris SB6183 that I use comes with a power brick rated for 12 volts and 1 amp, and this PoE splitter provides an equal output. It's also electrically ground isolated as per PoeTexas, which is vital for modems since the coax cable has a separate ground connection at the other end of the wire. I've tried this with non-isolated PoE splitters and the modem will power cycle or in bad cases, fry itself or the PoE switch port it is connected to. Thankfully there were no issues with regard to voltage/ground with this PoeTexas GAF-12V12W v6 splitter. The only issue I had is that it comes with a Type A barrel jack with 5.5 mm OD, 2.1 mm ID sizing. However, the modem I use has a Type B barrel jack with 5.5 mm OD, 2.5 mm ID. In other words, the PoE splitter did not fit into the jack on my modem. I had to cut the cable and solder on a new Type B DC connector. Another option was to buy an adapter, but I had the spare parts around. Everything is now working perfectly. Full gigabit speeds through the splitter and full 12V 1A power draw support from the splitter. The only way to make this better is to have the pigtail for the power output replaced with a barrel jack so a custom cable can be made.
