Best and stinkiest fence protector
Stinks to high heavens but works like a charm. I've used this for 4+ months and what wire mesh couldn't protect, this did. We have slowly started to remove the wire mesh on more scrubs and cacti since seeing it worked on other plants. Follow the directions for the initial spraying.

It actually works.
It's rare for me to use 5 stars, but Liquid Fence does repel deer, and does it for longer than they claim. After spraying the bushes, the deer won't even approach. After a couple of weeks they will pass by without eating anything. I have gone a whole month in the winter before re-spraying.

Finally, a deer repellent that works!
My wife is a master gardener, and our property is plagued with tick-carrying deer that love to eat her gardens. We have tried many products and home remedies over the years, and this is the best, by far. Yes, it is costly, but it is worth every penny. Prior to using this, for years I applied a well-known product made from dried, powdered pig blood. It was marginally effective, didn't last, and was very difficult to mix. It would also clog my sprayer frequently with blood clots. It would smell awful when mixing and after application. It would also leave dark brown [blood] spots on the plants.Speaking of smelling awful, this product also smells awful, but the odor dissipates within a day or so. It appears to last somewhere between a couple of weeks and a month, so you do need to re-apply it regularly. It comes as a concentrate that is about the consistency of heavy cream. 12.8 oz or so mix into a total of 1 gallon water. It mixes very easily, makes a small amount of foam, and has no clots or clogging issues. If you mix it indoors, the smell is pretty nasty, but doesn't last very long. I have to say that the nasty smell is more visceral than olfactory - it's almost like it makes me feel ill to smell it, even though the smell itself is not overpowering. Very subjective, your mileage may vary. One gallon of concentrate will make about 10 gallons of ready to use.I'v posted pics of the gardens we are protecting. So here's the bottom line - this stuff is easy to mix and use, works well, and lasts. The best repellent I have found, in many years of trying, to keep the deer from eating our plantings. I recommend buying a small amount of concentrate, and see how it works for you.

Don't get it in your mouth!
Earlier this season I purchased two containers of Liquid Fence from my local Lowe's Hardware store. I think the product was old. Both containers were like solid blocks of stuff inside the container. I had to bang on them a lot to get the granular stuff to shake out. I used both containers. Usually one (smaller) container will keep the deer away most of the season. I went out last week and found all my roses and buds gone! And the hosta flowers too! Oh no! Is it deer season yet?!So, I checked Amazon and found this five pound container of Liquid Fence and the price was great! It was hard to wait for the package to arrive. Yes, Amazon is fast, but deer are faster. I put Zest soap shavings on my roses and hostas in the meantime. The Liquid Fence arrived and I put it out immediately.I opened the container and gagged real bad. Yeah, it's nasty stuff! Amazon is selling a nice fresh product! I had to hold my nose the entire time I was shaking the container. Pay attention to the direction the wind is blowing. You REALLY won't like this to blow into your mouth. Yeah, the deer don't like it either.I recommend you buy your Liquid Fence from AMAZON. A great price and a very fresh product! I think they go through it fast, so the product they have in stock is always fresh. If the tips of your plants look like they've been clipped right off, that's deer damage. They love to eat your tender new growth. Your garden is worth protecting. I'll add a photo of deer damage if I can get a good one. Stay dirty my friend.

This stuff is GREAT!!
The rabbits this year were much worse than usual - munching down many plants till there were only nubs of stems sticking out of the ground. I had never used anything like this before and I was dubious that this would work, but at this point was willing to try anything. I am so glad I did! The rabbits will not touch anything that this product touched. I can always tell which plants I forgot to treat because those ones are destroyed by bunnies while the others remain unscathed. I was also amazed by how long it lasts - once it dries, even multiple heavy rains don't wash it away. I suspect I did not dilute it enough at first, and that affected some leaves, but at a larger dilution all is well. I have also learned that it's enough to pour this stuff around a plant I want to protect - without touching the plant. One thing though, this stuff absolutely stinks to high heaven when you open the jug. So, wear disposable gloves (you do NOT want this on your skin) when mixing/dispensing this product and I would avoid applying it right before you have a garden party. Happily, the smell is not noticeable when the product dries (and depending on the weather, this can be pretty fast). This stuff saved my garden!
