Works fine, but looks ugly because the shape doesn't match; chainring bolts not included.
44/34 works a lot better for me than 50/34. I get a much more usable range of gears with the 44T combined with an 11-32 cassette. Shift quality is quite good, but not quite as good as the Ultegra 50/34 that it replaces. Doesn't matter; it shifts when I move the lever. It's too bad that it doesn't match the shape of the Ultegra chainrings, which are very thick at the chainring bolts and taper gradually to the outside. As a result, when you install these on a Shimano 4-Bolt crank, the result looks very ugly, like some kind of Frankenstein monster crank. The parts very obviously don't match. I care more about how my bike works than how it looks, but it's still ugly. Also, there are no chainring bolts included. With the Shimano Ultegra 4-bolt cranks and chainrings, there is a bolt that attaches to the thread in the 50T chainring. The WickWerks 44T chainring doesn't have anything like it, just a hole. Therefore, you have to buy a set of standard chainring bolts for about $10. It is annoying that these are not included in the package.
