I think if you have opened an item you wouldn’t be able to return it for hygiene reasons, but that’s just a guess.

Don't put too much on, and I just dab it on with my finger til it blends in, i don't rub it in. You could use a slightly damp make up sponge to dab it and blend it. Hope this helps.
