Amazing vegan alternative to leather, is very durable, easy to sew with, and remarkably easy to customize! In order to get more texture and make the kraft-tex a bit more pliable and soft, I scrunch up the product while dry, spray it with a mixture of water and vegetable glycerin, scrunch it up some more, let it dry that way, then put it in boiling water. I then take it out and scrunch it even more a couple of times and then give it another glycerin treatment. It sews wonderfully when dry or damp, but sometimes I will iron it with a high steam setting to smooth it out and dry it. Finally, I will usually condition it with a vegan leather conditioner in order to give it a bit more of that leather feel. So far it has held up wonderfully and I could not be more pleased with this product!

Kraftex, a paper and fabric combination product, has become a new favorite of mine and my customers! I've been using Kraftex to reinforce the bottoms of tote bags that have become a best seller at local pop-up markets and at my Etsy shop. Each piece I've used has been through my washer and dryer and comes out softer and with natural creases that give it a leather like look. Because it is washable, it is perfect for the bottom of tote bags; spots and stains can easily be spot treated. I'm pleased that there are a variety of colors I can choose to purchase and have bought three colors at this time. Each color has its strengths and I have been able to utilize each one with fabric that coordinates extremely well. I plan to use this product for the foreseeable future and recommend it to any sewist, crafts-person, paper-crafter.

This paper is great. It sews well and is easy to cut. I washed it before I used it and it looked a little crinkly. It's very much like the fabric that is used on the waist of jeans for the size. You do have to be careful not to pin except inside the seam allowance because the pins make holes that don't come out. Also, if you use a tight satin stitch it cuts the fabric. It's really nice for handbags and I made a notebook cover out of it. I really like it.

This stuff is really neat. Washable, durable, and the colors were true to the listing. I have sewn on this with my regular sewing machine and it holds up great. It does tend to hold the rolled up shape but I unrolled it on my sewing table and put my cutting mat over it and now it is nice and flat.

Going to try this on some art projects, will see if I like it!

No chemical smell and not much of any smell.Seams to do well with sewing machine work.Perhaps it would work well as an interfacing for book covers or leather projects but is nothing like leather.Does not easily rip but I was able to do it with force.Weird dampness sensation even when dry.For several close up pictures of my product testing go to this link[...]

Really like working with this product. Met all of my expectations.

I read about this on a sewing blog - it really is amazing stuff. Paper that initially feels like cardboard, that you can soak or machine wash, sew into bags, wallets, applique, whatever, and ends up looking like leather. I love it - made a wallet the same day it arrived. Now I want more in another colour. The Stone is a lovely shade of warm grey, but I fancy the chocolate too!

I love this stuff!! It’s so sturdy and so much fun to sew with! And it looks great even after being washed, dried & ironed.My only complaint is how long it took to arrived. I could hardly wait to get started using it :)

Great product

Very good overall. The grey is a lot darker than the pictures tough!
