Best overall case for the iPhone 12 Pro Max
I spent a lot of time researching and trying different cases before I settled on this one. I've had other Apple-branded leather cases in the past, and they do seem to improve with every iteration. My requirements were: easy to remove (because I think iPhones really are best experienced with a case, so I take the case off whenever I get home); added grip (the leather is much grippier than the ground glass at the back, and slips less than the stainless steel band when using gloves); protection of the camera module when lying flat (the raised plastic rim around the camera module solves this); corner protection for the odd accidental drop. It's true that the corners can slip out after a face-first drop, but I have dropped it a couple of times now and the case absorbed enough of the impact that the phone sustained no damage whatsoever. I'm not using a MagSafe charger, but the MagSafe notification when you first attach it to your phone is a nice touch, and the fact that MagSafe holds the case onto the phone means it's much easier to add/remove than having to 'pop' the tight corners on/off like on previous models for phones with rounded sides. Charges on a QI charge pad in the case, but you do have to make sure it's centred properly on the charger. All my Lightning cables fit through the cutout to the charging point just fine. They've added clicky plastic buttons for the volume and lock buttons for the last couple of versions, which feel much nicer to use than the depressions built in to the leather that they were using previously. All my previous cases aged very nicely and I have no reason to suspect this one will be any different. It might seem odd to drop this much money on a case that I'm only going to be using half the time at most, but I don't see the point in buying a premium phone that feels fantastic to hold and then sticking it in a garish, plasticky, or inconvenient case. I have used cases with better drop protection in the past, but they've all been inconvenient to remove, so when the phone was in the case it felt cheap but I never bothered to take it out, and when I DID remove them I never bothered to put them back on. I like this model because the phone still looks professional and is easier to grip when it's on, and adding/removing it takes no effort so I do it every day without thinking, part of my daily routine like picking up my keys on the way out the door.

It’s expensive - but it’s the best you can get
Well it’s 50/60 bucks that you probably don’t want to spend on a “phone case”Truth is you will probably spend that on 2 or 3 cheaper ones that have good reviews but just aren’t as good as the Apple oneNot going to write paragraphs about an Apple Leather Phone Case for the 12 Pro MaxBut it’s much better than the 3 other cheaper ones I triedThe MagSafe works wayyyyy better in this genuine case than others I triedIt felt a little slidey in my hand when I first took it out the box , after a couple of weeks of general use the “sheen” disappeared and it felt and still feels much comfier, secure and natural in the handI’ve tried comfier/silicone ones but you need lube to fit them into your jeans pocket!Like all things Apple yes they are expensive but they work! And if you own a 1400 quid phone then 50 or 60 bangers more to keep it safe and work perfectly with MagSafe isn’t really the end of the world!!I always buy genuine apple products but when I saw the price I was like “GTF” but having tried and returned 3 cases around the 15 quid mark I decided to bite the bullet and get this oneYou won’t de disappointed once the shock of spending 50/60 smackaroonies on a phone case wears off!

Best Apple Leather case yet
I purchased this as it's specifically designed to work with all the iPhone 12 Pro Max features, over the last few years I've always purchased the Apple leather cases and been really satisfied with the quality of the products. This year they seem to have improved the quality in the fact that they've added an additional guard around the edge of the lens body, they may be more expensive than last year however you have to take into account the built in MagSafe functionality, there's other cheaper MagSafe cases out there however they pretty much all have a sticker on the inside containing the magnets so don't look that well built , whereas the magnets in the Apple case are bonded into the case under the felt lining. One upside to the leather case is it's compatibility with the Apple MagSafe Wallet, there's a lot of reviews out there stating the wallet is easy to slide off, that's true if you use it with the bare iPhone however when you pair the Wallet with the Leather case it's really hard to shift the wallet. It may be down to the friction caused by 2 materials of the same type being used but there also seems to be a slight adhesion created by the oils that'll naturally occur in the leathers giving the wallet far more griping power to the extent I cannot get it to slide off accidentally. All in all Id thoroughly recommend.

Buy cheap buy twice. This is the only case that is worth the money.

Black is best.
Previously had the blue one. Due to a change in the colouring process by Apple (well documented on the web) it did not patina, but the colour just wore down on the edges, making it very ugly.Hopefully the black one will hide these imperfections. The feel of the case (slipperability etc) is much, much better than silicone. It fits the phone well, with no significant extra bulk, and looks excellent. Looks much better than 3rd party cases in general. The buttons are sublime, and simply beat any third party case.My only criticism is that £60 is ridiculous for this case. In my opinion £30 would be more on the mark.
