Best Gel for Endurance Sports
Just raced a 200-mile ultramarathon and these are my current favorite gel of all the many brands I use. I burned 43,000 calories in 96Hours so gels are important! These taste good and don’t make you nauseous. They work really well.

Gamechanger fuel for ultrarunning and marathons (170 miles raced in the past 3 months)
I took a gamble and used Huma for the first time on an 70k (originally 110k) ultrarunning race in Sept 2024 (Wildstrubel in the Swiss alps) --- Huma kept me going through the countless leg-busting uphills, AND was the first time I had no gastrointestinal distress during the race. (This is especially shocking because previously I would always take Immodium pre-race, and pay for the discomfort later :P)Huma actually tastes good!!! It's not sticky like Gu gels, and actually feels hydrating. I look forward to every squeeze of the packet -- my strategy is to hold it in one hand and slowly dole it out to myself as a treat before every ascent.I was Huma-powered again for my first 100 miler (Midstate Massive) a month later in Oct 2024, and took 3rd place in that race.Yesterday (Nov 2024) I ran Philly marathon with 4 Huma packets (apples & cinnamon, lemon & lime, mango, strawberry lemonade) and broke my PR by 30 min!Needless to say I recommend Huma for any sort of physical activity -- I will definitely be bringing it on my next backpacking trip too. It was even better to listen to "Born to Run" recently, wonder if Huma was related to the Tarahumara (esp because of the chia ingredient), and to realize that was the inspiration :)

An acquired taste
In my opinion, energy gels (of all kinds) are nasty and they take some time to get used to. First time I tried one of these, I gagged a bit. But after some time, I’ve gotten used to them and they no longer make me gag. I really like these one’s compared to other brands because I find them easy to digest and the gel texture is almost like a purée. Also, I definitely get an energy boost after taking at least half a gel. I would recommend putting them in the freezer the night before a run; they won’t freeze, but I find that the cold temperature makes it easier to wash down. Also, take with water.

A bit more more than other brands, but a GREAT alternative
I am picky with my gels. I can't stand those that are two thick. Maybe they have better flavors, or more sodium, or potassium, or carbs, or whatever. For me, the thickness of the gels is a 100% deal breaker. I am also not a fan of gels that overpower you with flavor. I would prefer more neutral or muted flavors. My go to gel and flavor used to be Powerbar tangerine (orange was just to much orange), but then I found the "orange dream". But even with Powerbar, you take to many (how many depends on the event) and my iron stomach would bit off.In comes huma, referred by a friend. Read the backstory, like it. Like the goal for a bit more natural, like the claims for easy on the stomach, though I never really had GI issues.Pros:- great flavors. Not a big fan or mocha and chocolate, but in a variety, I'll eat those.- easy on the stomach, never once has issues with it.- the new flavors, love the direction and interested to try them out. Saving them for a 100k coming upCons:- not as easy imho to open as some others- not as easy to squeeze out the top. Its like the hole needs to be bigger, or they need the gel to be a bit thinner- yes its easy on stomach, but it doesnt seems to pack the punch/boost I would get from Powerbar. Not a deal breaker, but an observation- more expensive- they are not as thin as I would have guessed. Yes more than Gu, or Hammer, but the Powerbar is still more smooth.Seems like more cons, but they are quite minor. These are my go to gels. for ultras, I do still bring some powerbar, and mix them in, but its primarily huma and TailwindUpdate: 05/19/2017This is still my go to gel. Love most of the flavors. Really like the two newest once. Still not a fan of the rip top I wish the mouth area was a bit wider to allow the gel to come out quicker/more volume. That would change it to 5 stars for me.

They'll help you FLY down the course!
Heres' the deal if you are NOT a fan of chemically tasting, weird textured goo as your run/bike/hike/adventure fuel, you gotta give this product a try!! I've used Huma for awhile now, though usually I buy it from my local running store, purchasing it here on Amazon is a breeze. This particular combo got me through my Tokyo marathon race experience and a PR setting run in Boston (I did also use some non caffeinated Humas as well). It's also powered me through some pretty fun ultra experiences, like a 12 hour run I opted to do in various costumes. ;)The thing about Huma is I feel like I'm eating real food cause I am, I've never had any stomach issues with it, and my only regrets with it, are not packing enough! It actually tastes good, and I slurp it right down easily while running. This pack has flavors I like and the bonus of extra electrolytes! Give it a try and you won't regret it, fly Huma powered person fly! :)

Great taste and zero digestion issues!
These are now my go-to gels for running and cycling. The guy at Fleet Feet locally said they are becoming the customer fave as well. Have used these on several Half Marathons and long runs with zero digestion issues. They taste great, and I've tried quite a few different flavors. Definitely worth a try.
