Exactly What I Needed
We camp a lot in the wilderness. I drive a full ton pickup and we pull a big 5th wheel trailer to our campsites out in the BLM land in the Mojave Desert. My wife and I are one of the few couples who doesn't argue & bicker while she's guiding me and directing me when I back up the trailer. But we DO get snotty with each other when it comes to picking a campsite. Not to put all the blame on her, but she (A) hates to arrive at camp in the dark because it's so hard to see where the bushes end and the next campsite begins and (B) she always gets home from work late so there's no chance of us getting there while it's still daylight. PROBLEM SOLVED On our trip last weekend, I gave her a hard time for us getting a late start (as usual), but let it go very quickly. Then when we turned off the highway and started looking for a spot, I pulled this thing out of its nylon bag and plugged it into the cig lighter and handed it to her. Oh my gosh, what a difference. She was able to light up the roadway for me driving in (awesome) and shine the spot to her side and watch for camp spaces. We don't need anything fancy, but we have to see well enough to pick out the stone fire ring of an existing site. Once we see that there's a fire ring and see that the bushes are clear enough, then we need to light up the bushes off the road and pick a path where I can pull in without scratching the truck or trailer too badly. This is really perfect for that. As far as the spot vs flood feature, I really can't tell a difference. The normal spot light setting provides a good bright wash of light. I can easily see from the cab of my truck 50 yards into the night to see where I need to go. I'm glad this is corded instead of rechargeable. I don't want to have to worry about charging another gizmo. This corded lamp gives a strong consistent beam because it's plugged in. We can use our smaller headlamps once we get out of the truck.

Works as Advertised. Big and Bright!
We use this at night on our Ranch in the Texas Hill Country in the Polaris Ranger SXS when there is no moonlight to light the way through the pitch black darkness and the fixed vehicle light bar only illuminates the area directly in the forward path of the 4X4. Note that to use, it must be plugged into the DC receptacle at all times since it does not have an internal battery. You will need a much longer DC extension cord to use outside the vehicle. Good value for the money however, especially given the fact your life outdoors can be at considerable risk far from help or civilization.

Good quality and not blinding
The light quality is very good at night just like the old ones. I had to get rid of the new LED lights they are way too blinding. I even dropped this one on the floor and it still worked.

Providing good service as a boat spotlight.
I have a 29' Fountain that I run frequently at night. This light performs wonderfully as a spotlight and searchlight for my boat. It throws a very powerful, wide beam that is on par with $100+ lights I have used in the past. I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 for only two minor flaws. First, the trigger is supposed to widen the beam and turn the light from more of a spotlight into a searchlight. When I press the trigger, I notice no appreciable change in the throw of the beam. This is pretty much a non-issue for me as the beam is adequately wide for my purposes anyway. Second - and this may seem nit-picky - the plug is quite long. I was lucky in that my 12V accessory port has enough clearance behind it for this to be a non-issue as well. However, I had this light on another boat once and was unable to use it because the plug extended so far back from the 12V port that it interfered with the free turning of the steering wheel.

Turn the Night into Daylight,
I received this "Max Million III" on time, well packed. I got this for a relative working in the Police Dept. on the midnight shift. The illumination power & distance is incredible. An excellent tool for Police, Military, Security & civilians that work or hunt at night from a vehicle. I also purchased a smaller sized, rechargeable One Million Candle Power unit for searches on foot. Using good quality illumination tools aids in safety and success in pro-active activity. I was pleasantly surprised at the very reasonable price for this item.

Great Light but Poorly designed 12v Plug - TOO BIG!
I had one of the 1 million candlepower units for quite a few years. It was awesome. Stopped working so I bought this one. This has a short cord which is disappointing, but even more disappointing is the power plug. This thing is huge and also does NOT fit well into 12v sockets. My vehicle power port, it won't even stay in. Pops out and won't stay. VERY poor design. For now I am using an extension cable to make it work.

The Best Out There
My dad and I have been using Q-beam Max Million spotlights since I was a kid. I don't know what it is about them that makes them so great, but they're super bright and can light up the trees across a field 600 yards away. I tried some other spotlights that claim to be brighter. The first one I tried was a 6 million candlepower version, supposedly twice as bright as my Max Million III, but the beam wouldn't reach nearly as far. I was very disappointed. I've given up on trying anything else because the Q-beam is the best. It's nice that Brinkmann sells spare parts on their website too. We sold our original Max Million at a garage sale a few years ago that still worked.

The Best Birthday Present I Ever Got Him
I bought the Brinkmann 800-2301-0-Q-Beam Max Million III Spotlight for my "special someone" for his 51st birthday. He is an AVID hunter and he boards roughly 40 horses at his ranch. He had a 1 million spotlight and he kept saying that he should really get a 2 million. When I saw the Brinkmann III, I knew I just had to get it for him. I had a small party for him for his birthday and as soon as he opened it he told everyone to pile in the pickup, we were going to try it out. His face was like a small child at Christmas. (He's so cute!!!)He couldn't believe how strong it was. We had to drive around the section where he deer hunts so he could try to see which direction the deer were coming in from for his hunt the next day. He also uses it alot to look at the horses when they're out in the pasture. The Best gift I have ever given him.
