The Surfcaster's Guide to Baits, Rigs & Lures: Over 50 Time-TEsted Baits, Rigs and Lures--and How to Fish Them

This is the best book on surf fishing techniques I have ever read. I live in Ireland and have had time to try a few of these rigging techniques and have bought and tried a few of lures mentioned. I'm now catching more fish than I ever did before. Wherever you live in the world I'm sure that you will find this book a big help in improving your fishing. Some of the terms used and the names of the fish may be different to where you live but it is very easy to Google these. I found that we have a lot of fish the same but called by another name and these methods work. A great book, wish that I had come across it years ago.

At last, a book that lives up to its title. It really deals whith rigs and lures, nothing more, nothing less. I appreciate that most of the book is a one by one description of the different rigs/lures, describing a little history about them, their use, action, and how to fish them.I don't give it 5 stars because for some of the lures, the information is not complete. For example, the actual way to fish them is not described. Overall, a good book that deserves to be in your bookshelf as a reference.

Although I haven't yet read this book word by word, I have perused it and read specific parts I am particularly interested in and have found it to be a most excellent source of saltwater/surfcasting information. I relied on Amazon reviews to make this purchase, as I typically do, and once again I appear to have been guided well. Many thanks one and all!

I found this book full of great information. Learn a great deal of information about hand tied rigs. Also there was a wealth of information on bait and presentation.

We just got back from a beach trip to Ft. Morgan AL, and the wife and I caught more fish than we ever had before, simply by using the rigs and techniques described in this book. We were literally tired of catching fish after just a couple if days. Catfish, Flounder, Pompano, and even a small shark. This book is a must for anyone who is currently a surf fisherman or who is thinking about becoming one. Lots of detail. Lots of helpful information.

I like this Surfcaster's Guide because it has basic info for those who know nothing, but it is comprehensive enough to give us intermediates something to chew on as well. Pack full of useful info. Helpful for the whole Eastern seaboard. Highly recommended!

Very basic and very average book with little usefull info. .Not what i hoped for.

This book gives your a clear way to sort out the massive info on surf fishing. And to pick your favorite pastime.
