She will sometimes be calmer afterward, but not always.Be careful which one you purchase — they are NOT all dishwasher safe. The one I got is not. But, we place it in the dishwasher anyway and it hasn't resulted in any problem yet.Pay attention to the instructions that say to sit with your dog the first few times. You want to make sure the dog doesn't start a habit of chewing the actual mat.
