Works really well and stable

I bought several of these partly because of my experience with this brand. They performed very well. I used them both on the inside and outside of the ladder. They were used with two 300 pound ladders and a 250 pound rated ladder. They are definitely more stable with the higher rated ladders. They were used to install siding on a home that was 23 feet at the peak. They were stable enough that I felt quite comfortable at 17 feet above the ground. I used them with the Qualcraft 2475 Basemate Easy Connect Professional Ladder Stabilizer which allows the ladder to be positioned perfectly vertical. For the scaffold I used two sets of Walkboard T-Brace 3 Pack Model Number: 5601629 for a length of 30 feet so I could do the siding on one side of the building with one setting. I would recommend that each worker be tied off with a fall protection harness.

Very satisfied with the ladder jack. Very intuitive to hang on the ladder rungs, feels very secure, easy to adjust to keep the staging boards level. Sometimes a shim or two is helpful between the jack's arm and the staging plank resting on it to completely match leveling between the two jacks and minimize wobble of the planks, depending on ladder position.

Not what I hoped for. I have an older set of Stinson 2 rung ladder jacks that I really like. The same company makes Qualcraft. The Stinson jacks fit perfectly on Werner 1500 series ladders. These Qualcraft jacks sit on the top rung, float off of the second rung, and are sitting well off of the third. They spread the horizontal load over 3 rungs, but the vertical load is supported only by the top rung.

It does what I wanted to do. It's well made. I can see now that I own it that nothing of this kind can have the strength and at the same time fit all ladders equally well. You should understand before you buy that the design is meant for ladders at a fairly sharp pitch - that is, the base of the ladder has to be reasonably close to the wall. Otherwise the horizontal bars that support the planking cannot be adjusted anywhere near level. That's fine, probably as it should be but if your ladder is a bit on the long side you can't compensate by moving the base of the ladder away from the wall. The only cheaper units I've seen only hook over two rungs and I don't think I'd feel safe with that.

I replaced one werner bracket (sacrificed to the backhoe) with this and side by side you can see the difference in quality.Well constructed heavy gauge aluminum. very pleased.
