An Essential Purchase
I must admit that I checked this book out of the local library before I committed to a purchase. We are 'seasoned travelers' and have an upcoming trip to Eastern Europe. I am the designated family travel guru but I never (at least to myself) claim to be a font of wisdom. It's books like this that help me keep up the façade. After I study this book, I can continue to carry on with my image as 'THE MAN'. But, enough about me, if you are planning to go to Eastern Europe, this book is essential. Following up on any one of the many tips and suggestions justifies the purchase.

Don't return an item. Give it away!
The books are great but I ordered the wrong country. So I returned them However Had I known you would charge half of the price I paid for the two books for restocking I would have given them away as a gift. That is rediculous.

A Good Guide to Eastern Europe
This is the most useful guide I found for Eastern Europe. We will be on a cruise on the Danube, and I certainly didn't want to be carrying separate guides for brief stops in Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, etc.

another great DK eyewitness guidebook
I always buy DK guides if they are available. Clear, great pictures, good maps. This is like all the 20 or 25 others I have from DK

Helped me through all my Europe travels the past two years!
I've been living as an expat in Eastern Europe, and I carried this book along whenever I travelled. It kept me occupied with the easy and entertaining read along with the great tips on food, shopping, accommodations and attractions that one would seek on their travels. I highly recommend!

Oversized but Excellent Volume
Covering all of North Central and South Eastern Europe, this 2015 volume is too large for its own good, weighing two full pounds (way too much for your carry-on bag). However, it boasts all of the lavish illustration, textual authority and insightful organization the DK Eyewitness series is known for. Though detail on hotels, restaurants and prices is now out of date, the maps, histories and tourist site descriptions are as relevant as ever. It's still the best answer for travelers needing a reliable guide to more than one country in Eastern Europe. I cut mine in half -- the binding is so good it can withstand that.
