More helpful to understand the submission process than for writing articles
This brief book consists of 117 pages and the following contents:Chapter 1: Before you WriteChapter2: Choosing your Target JournalChapter 3: The Methods SectionChapter 4: The Results SectionChapter 5: The IntroductionChapter 6: The DiscussionChapter 7: The Abstract and TitleChapter 8: When you have a Full DraftChapter 9: Following SubmissionChapter 10: Abbreviations and TermsThe book focusses on two processes: preparing a paper and submitting it to a journal. All descriptions related to preparing a paper a quite brief, not easy to understand by beginners in writing scientific articles. In addition, the order of the chapters does not follow the structure of a scientific paper (e.g. IMRAD), because information about creating an introduction is placed between the chapters related to the results section and the discussion. Furthermore, basic information about how to perform a literature research are included.More helpful are the explanations submission process, because the reader gets an understanding of the review process, how an editor is working, and how to act in the process of revising the manuscript. In particular the chapter Following submission contains up to now rare information, which are very helpful for authors especially not so familiar with the submission process. Due to this, the book reaches four instead of three stars.
