Very Solid Rower
My first impressions after setting this up is that it is a solid machine. I was looking for a rowing machine that was built to last. After doing a little research it was recommended to get something rated for 300 lbs. or more. This one caught my eye. The price was right, looked solid plus was more compact then most.At this price-point I knew the electronics would be basic but that was what I was wanted. With a little modification (adding a some rubber spacers) it can hold a iPad securely. There are plenty of YouTube videos for rowing. The rower came earlier than expected. It was boxed well, no issues found. The assembly was pretty straight forward, took about 30-40 minutes to put it together. I was able to slap it together myself but having an extra set of hands may be useful. The only minor issues I can see are the velcro foot straps (they are a little cheap) and I wish the LCD display would hold a tablet a little snugger. Those are minor and can be resolved.Overall I am very happy with the purchase and would recommend this rower to someone that wants something basic yet solid.

Great Rowing Machine. Great Value. Overall happy.
I received my HouseFit water rowing machine about two weeks ago and so far I am very pleased. I was completely inexperienced with rowing and just looking to get started. And I am very happy that I chose this one. It was well packaged and assembly was super easy. If you can use an Allen wrench you'll manage just fine, took 15 minutes tops. It seems sturdy and well built. Looks great and I love that it folds up and rolls in to the corner for easy storage. Came with funnel and pump and first dose of water treatment tablet for the tank (not sure if that is mentioned in the Amazon listing details). Some other reviews mentioned the digital monitor/display and the related app as a disappointment. So far both have worked great for me. No issues connecting or setting up the app. I suppose the monitor is basic. But if I wanted more features or more precision I would have paid 6x-7x the price for one of the Peloton style rowing machines. But I am glad that I did not. The HouseFit rower is perfect for what I wanted.Only reason I did not give 5 stars is the foot straps are not the best, I struggle to keep them secure. And the foot holsters are a little small or a weird shape. Not easy to get my shoes in, but I make it work and its a minor complaint.

Good Water Rower
I never fully know when I order something how it is going to work out. This purchase has worked out very well and, after over a year of use, I would definitely buy again. Nothing showing signs of use.I’m 6’ and about 210. The rower fits me nicely and feels very sturdy under me. It took a little bit to put it together, but it was more about me taking my time to get it right than rushing through it.It is quiet and the sound of the water while working out is very zen. The water level is the resistance level. I just changed the water for the first time and it was clear and clean. Plopped in the second chlorine tablet and have one left. The workout is great. The motion is fluid, there are no squeaks, vibration or annoyances. The display is really the only let down, but I barely use it. It may have more functionality than it appears to have, but I don’t care about tracking workouts or posting on Facebook. I just like rowing and the 30 minutes of peace.I see a lot of people complaining about the foot straps and that was one of my complaints early on. The thing is, if you are using the straps to return to the catch, you are doing it wrong. The balls of your feet should always be in contact with the foot pedal and not pulling against the strap for the return. The workout is in the push, not the recovery. Find the Dark Horse 30 minute beginner video on YouTube. It helps you isolate each movement as you are learning to use the rower.Anyway, good solid rower, nice peaceful workout, super low maintenance and I would buy again.

Quiet and compact with nice features
Easy to build. Feels sturdy. I was looking for something that could be stored in the smallest footprint possible. This one tips right up into a corner or against a wall without any complicated folding in about a 2x2 foot space. I also like the little lip that holds iPads and phones. It's placed above the rowing handle (not sure why some have it placed below--makes no sense) and my iPad fits pretty securely in it. That being said, the monitor (operation and info) is kind of a headscratcher, but I'm usually watching TV on my iPad anyway, so I don't look at it much. The resistance settings offer a great range for me and as advertised, it's super quiet. However, like some other reviewers, I found the foot straps a bit wonky. I ended up installing them "backwards" so I could pull the straps out instead of in to tighten. They're clearly not meant to be used that way and I might end up wearing the straps out sooner, but it's worth it to me. Overall, great price for all the features I was looking for.

very little resistance from this machine
purchased this unit to replaced a faulty Genki chinese wooden version that was faulty. the reviews seems to indicate that this unit was the good choice for the $$$. arrived quickly and whilst assemblying the quality of the build was impressive. The unit doesn’t have a lot of resistance though and not sure if this is normal. It does offer a workout but need to row for quite sometime before you start to feel itThe build quality is superior to the previous unit I purchased
