Sure-GripGirls Golden Hour Outdoor High Top Roller Skate

Finding roller skates in an average size has become borderline impossible in 2020 with price gouging becoming the norm. I was very happy to find these skates by Sure-Grip. I have a slightly wide foot and these fit beautifully! A few things to know before you buy: these are just a yellow version of Sure-Grip's Fame roller skates. These skates are considering dance skates, so the wheel bases are shorter. If you're not used to it, it takes a little time to get used to. Personally, I love the shorter wheel base. It makes maneuvering a lot easier!If you aren't a fan of yellow, you can pick up a pair of Fame skates in either black or white (although check the sizing, the white skates are slightly more narrow than the black) with the same outdoor Motion wheels. If you have your own outdoor wheels, you can save some money by buying the indoor version of the same skate. It's a lot cheaper and the only difference is the wheels that ship with it. Personally, I wasn't a giant fan of the Motion wheels. I skate on an asphalt path that always has some gravel and small branches on it. I felt every bump on my ride. I popped on some Atom Pulse wheels and couldn't be happier with the set up.My only real complaint is that these are not "disposable" skates at this price point and I would like the option of perhaps swapping out the plates at some point. Unfortunately, Sure-Grip used a permanent mount so you can't remove the plates at all. VERY disappointing! That said, these are a great pair of skates and, more importantly, AVAILABLE. ;)

At a time when some people are waiting months and months for their quad rollerskate orders, I am THRILLED that I was able to receive skates from a reputable brand - Sure Grip - in under a week.FIT: These are a little wide on me, but my feet are narrow so I just have to lace them up a little tighter from toe to instep. Noting this because if you've found other skates to be too much of a squeeze, these should be good for you. They are VERY comfortable with lots of cushy material inside, including the tongue. Other than the back top boot pressure, these feel like sneakers. The only drawback is that the top back of the boot digs in a bit, and since it's not leather that won't stretch over time. I may just leave the top hook undone. I wear a size 10 1/2 to 11 women's and ordered a size 10 men's, and they fit as well as can be expected since I have an in-between size - there is some room at the toe that I only notice when I tilt up and press into the toestops. It's possible that I could have gone with a 9, but c'est la vie.COLOR: These are a *gorgeous* vivid, rich yellow leaning towards sunflower. Exactly what I was hoping for. Not crayola yellow, or pastel yellow, or mustard yellow. Nothing wrong with those, but FYI.TOE STOPS: The stoppers that come with the skates are way too short for me - they don’t go low enough given my boot size. (Inserting geometry section: picture your foot angled upward on the toe stop. The rule of thumb is three fingers should fit under your wheels. But the longer your foot is, the higher your heels are in the air even at that same angle.) The lowest these stoppers will safely go still has my heels way too high in the air, so I bought a pair of thicker stoppers that also have longer stems (30mm) and my heels now stop at the proper height. Ahhh.***NOTE: if you are new to skating, get a "Y" skate tool so you can adjust the nut on your trucks (look up what that means) so you can adjust the ability to lean into your turns, and also adjust the spin of your wheels if necessary. These are game changers! Check out youtube for videos on what to do when you get a new pair of skates out of the box to learn more.***I haven't taken these outside yet, but I've skated at home on a hard floor and these feel great. Very happy with this purchase, and will update this review if there is anything to add with more use. Have fun out there.UPDATE - took them outside and they moved and felt great. My feet weren't even sore after. These are the most comfortable skates I've ever worn.

Absolutely amazing skates, definitely worth the price. I’ve had them for 6 months now and they work just as well. With any skate, you should loosen the wheels and trucks a bit for a full range of motion, but once I did that they were perfect. Boot is comfortable, no chipped plates, and a great skate for beginners and experienced folks alike. ONLY complaint is that the laces are a bit short, but tie up fine.

It took a lot of time to find a pair but once these got here i was impressed my daughter is 11 years old and she loves these she has had them for at least 4 months now and they are still good as new i highly recommend these if your looking for something long term.
