Built to Last โ A Classic Tool That Gets the Job Done Right
The Milton S-506 Original Service Station Tire Inflator and Air Pressure Gauge is the real deal. This isnโt some flimsy, plastic throwaway tool โ itโs solid, well-built, and made from quality materials that feel like theyโll last a lifetime. As soon as you pick it up, you can tell it was designed with durability and performance in mind. One of my favorite features is the bubble window on the gauge. It not only makes it easy to read but also gives off a nostalgic 1950s-era vibe โ like something you'd find in a classic service station. It adds a touch of retro charm to a very functional tool. Whether you're checking tire pressure or topping off air, this inflator works accurately. It feels professional and performs like something you'd see in an auto shop. I couldnโt be happier with it. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates quality craftsmanship and wants a tool that just works.

A pro air-toll
My stable of 7 vehicles PLUS 3 trailers requires my airing up various sized tires on a regular basis and I'm giving this air-tool 5-stars for ease of use and consistent, dependable all-weather readings in rain, snow, desert heat, you name it! The entire assembly, the reading window and air-chuck, swivel whatever way you need--- a Big Plus for saving time, your poor back and your knees. Truly a pro-tool and if you're like me, a frequent road warrior who hates airing up tires at truck stops, gas stations and 7-11s' you'll appreciate this very worthwhile at home or on-the-road air tool. So much better than my old stick gauge and separate air chuck
I don't know why I didn't get one of these sooner. I've just been doing the old stick gauge, then swap out for the air chuck to air up, then check the pressure again by swapping around, etc. Something like this makes so much sense... just one thing hooked to your valve. See what the pressure is and if you need more, just a little goose on the handle, check the pressure again, etc. It seriously makes filling the tire so much faster, and more accurate. Before, it was such a pain I'd just get it close enough and call it good, but with this I got my truck tires up to 65 on the nose, just because it was so easy to be that exact. The long reach, and double-end, of the chuck was also great for getting to my dually valves. I had struggles with those before... my old chuck was dual-headed but my gauge wasn't. I had a tiny digital gauge I could get in there, but it was kind of a knuckle buster. This makes it easy. As far as accuracy, it seemed to correlate just fine with my stick gauge. My digital gauge was also pretty close, but if I had to guess, I'd say this one was probably more accurate and it was the digital one that was off by a PSI here or there. Either way, close enough, when all of my gauges seemed to agree with each other within +/- a PSI or two at the 65 PSI range. I think you pay a little more for the Milton brand, but from what I read in the reviews of similar models from other vendors, I think it's worth it. I did take a little time to scrape off some metal ridges where the air hose passes through that hole in the frame of this, where the gauge is. I read some other reviews where people had done that just to make sure the hose didn't get poked, but other than that, solid quality, and honestly I didn't think it really would have done any damage.

Second one Iโve purchased and both are solidly made. Highly recommend

and that would have been a shame because this is a great product. It's overkill for my home garage
I nearly passed on this product after reading some reviews, and that would have been a shame because this is a great product. It's overkill for my home garage, but it's all in one, itโs neat and I like it. Glad I bought it. Three criticisms that Iโd like to comment on that might help someone else โฆ โข The gauge and chuck are difficult to handle: One review painted a picture in my mind of a chuck flailing around wildly, mercilessly dinging any car in itโs path. I frankly don't understand this: I have the chuck in one hand and the lever/gauge in the other. I don't mean to be thick about it, but I donโt understand the problem. To the contrary, the lead in hose, combined with a swiveling, dual chuck means that from wheelbarrows and bicycles, to tandem wheel trucks, construction vehicles and everything in between, it is highly unlikely that you will ever come across a valve you canโt reach, or reach more conveniently. โข The gauge is imprecise and hard to read: Iโve always been a bit farsighted and now more so as I get older. I hold a 12 pt font almost arms length to read it clearly without reading glasses. But even without my readers, I can see easily both when the gauge lines up on a pressure mark and when it falls between two marks. The gauge is marked in 2lb increments, but I would not call it 2lb resolution. I'm confident I'm within 1lb error max. The difference in temperature when you fill the tire is going to have a greater effect than these markings. โข The chuck does not have a clip: I specifically did not want a clip. I passed right away on other chucks because they have clips. I just want to be able to push the valve stem and release. Quick and easy. First, clips make it a two step process. Second, based on my experience with any number of bicycle pumps, I've often not been able to release the clip without losing a good bit of air. When I take the Milton off the stem, there's only the slightest whisp heard - essentially no air lost. I mean, what is the point of a super accurate inflator if you lose a pound or more of air when you detach it? It seemed a little expensive to me, but I now add one more feature to the above: it appears to be indestructible - Iโm confident I could run over it repeatedly without damage. I know itโs not going to break. I hope someone has found this helpful.

and knew them to be good connections. When I needed a new inflator
I have used Milton connectors in all of my air tools and lines for a couple of years, and knew them to be good connections. When I needed a new inflator, I wanted to check to see if Milton had one. It is pricier then what you can generally buy at the big box stores, but I figured it would be better to buy a Milton once rather then a Tool Shop one every two to three years. I was very impressed when I opened to package. First of all, you will need a connector to hook it to your system; for most people this is going to be a male quick connect fitting. Fortunately I have some sitting around, so I hooked one up and started filling tires. This inflator is much more comfortable then any other that I have used. The trigger is solid, not some thin pot metal (first picture). The gauge is very visible (second picture) and responsive. One thing that I found very nice, and a feature I have never seen on an inflator before, was that if you pull the trigger without it being attached to a stem valve, it blows air just like one of the cleanup fittings. This is really helpful for blowing dirt or debris away from stem valves, as well as general cleanup when I'm too lazy to find the correct fitting. Another thing that I noticed was that it doesn't leak air. Most of the other inflators I have used leak air like crazy when the trigger is not being pulled, and some of them leak even while filling a tire. This one is tight, and doesn't leak at all. I knew a Milton inflator was going to be high quality, and I was pleasantly surprised at how much nicer it actually turned out to be. It is definitely pleasant to use tools that are well made, and not cheap pieces of junk. It is a tool that feels like it is built for a lifetime of use, rather then something that is built to be used for a couple of years and thrown away. And now I have written way more then I ever believed I would be capable of writing about an inflator.

Exceptional quality
Exceptional quality, however, I do find the scale a bit difficult to read, wish the numbers and scale were a bit larger. Hose does swivel, rugged body, should last many years.

Milton (S-506) Original Dual Head Chuck Tire Inflator Gauge - 15" Hose
I have found overall good experience here

This is the nicest air chuck I have ever used, required one little tweak.
Itโs vary well built. Itโs easy to use. It is vary easy to read the tire pressure. I did end up removing the hose and taking a chainsaw file to remove the sharp edges that were going to cut into the hose, vary simple to do. I have no doubt this tool will last a long time.

Good quality
Shame the scale only shows PSI, they could easily fit a second metric scale. Otherwise perfect value for money. It replaces a clone that rusted up. This one has real brass parts and should last forever.

Accurate gauge in an inflator for a change.
This product is good quality and has a very accurate gauge. I have tested the accuracy against two other high quality pressure gauges and this unit is spot on.
