What does 2/5 mean? Couldn't you just say that it is less than a half of an inch and therefor not really thick at all?

2/5" (0.4") is 10.16mm. Most mats are 1/4" which is 6mm. It is easier to compare mat thickness in millimeters than in fractions of an inch. So, this mat is a lot thicker and will give more cushion.

Do you know how long it takes to offgas? I just got mine and it's really smelly, thanks!

New yoga mats may have a bit of smell at first, but it is completely harmless! The smell will fade with time and use, however, cleaning the mat can quickly speed up this process. We recommend washing the mat with a yoga mat wash or a 50/50 mixture of vinegar and water. Then let the mat air dry. It should take no longer than 2-3 days maximum. Is it really for yoga? Does it have good grip on both sides?

I use it for yoga. Has a great grip on both sides and extra thick padding to reduce pressure in certain poses. Also great for enhancing balance as the thick foam forces you to focus on balance.
