I'm asthmatic, and artificial odors can cause me problems.The candle was well-packaged with bubble wrap, and the box it was in was well-padded within the Amazon packaging.Opening the lid, I could smell the candle without it being overpowering. It took me a couple of tries to get all three wicks burning - the candle fills up the jar so much that my exhalations were blowing it out!Once I got the wicks to stay lit, I set it on a cork coaster on my mantle and sat down to admire the tree, listen to Christmas music, and the candle's scent started to permeate the room. It's a pleasant scent, not too strong, but not weak, either. No acrid, smoky smell that some candles get.It's only been burning for two hours, but I think it has a long burn time ahead of it, so I can re-light it again and again.
