Not a motorcycle riding pants
The material is so thin and offers no protection against friction, never mind the guards, you primarily need protection against sliding.

Met all of my expectations
Very comfortable fit. Stretchy to accommodate different armor pads if you want to upgrade at all. Knee pads were very thick and comfortable. Hip protectors are just foam place holders. I will be adding extra protection there. Pants have a low rise waist line, not a problem as long as you have a long shirt to tuck in or jacket to protect from possible road rash. I like the color, fit, and cut. Great product for the price.

Not "Riding" Jeans — (certainly not "racing"!)
These are just basic demin jeans with two extra pockets (at the knees) for a soft foam rubber insert, and two flimsy, dangly mesh pockets at either hip that are supposed to hold a 1/4" thick piece of standard foam rubber. The jeans are in no way reinforced or doubled up. The fabric is not any different in any way from fashion jeans you might buy elsewhere. I'm not about to test their seam strength or abrasion resistance because I'm returning them. But my guess, given their masked country of origin and ever-changing "brand" name is that they would fail spectacularly at these tests. The armor itself seems very soft and flimsy to me. I expected the knee protectors to be actual rigid armor (for certain I didn't expect D30 at this price point), but these inserts are hardly better than putting a kitchen sponge over your knees. You know those foam squeeze balls companies give out for free with their name on them? Same material. The holes have no purpose other than to make them look like safety gear. Meanwhile, the hip "protection" pads I can guarantee will do zero for you in any accident. Much too thin and hard. It's more suitable as a heavy duty liner for a tool or junk drawer. In short: none of the protective armor pieces are actually designed with impact protection of a human body in mind. Given the jeans are not abrasion resistant… then the armor will become exposed almost immediately following an accident and that too will crumble away under friction and stress. Are these better than wearing athletic shorts on your bike? No doubt! But don't kid yourself that these will protect you from major road rash after a low side at speed (or from any other kind of fall). You may as well just wear any of your favorite pair of jeans. These are "glorified" jeans that offer nothing over a pair of thin, stretchy fashion jeans — other than pockets over the knees and the veneer of "protective gear" because you can insert bits of cheap padding here and there. I almost rated 1 star because I think they are potentially riskier than wearing normal jeans if they give a user a false sense of protection. But as long as you understand what they truly are, then maybe they provide *some* value by way of being demin and full covering for your legs with *some* cushioning. Thus: 2 stars. They may be excellent gardening jeans for all I know.
